Slingshot weaving is very useful for children, as it develops hand motor skills. Any horizontal surface, such as a table or stove, is suitable for weaving.

Weaving rubber bands on a slingshot for beginning needlewomen may seem difficult at first, but if you correctly follow all the instructions in the instructions, then everything will definitely work out.

Rubber bands on a slingshot for beginners:

  • vegetables and fruits;
  • animals and birds;
  • bracelets;
  • figurines of men and flowers;
  • toys.

If the craft doesn't work out the first time, don't be upset. As you gain experience, the figures will come out better and better.

Process description

For the initial weaving lesson, you need to choose a simple figure, for example, a pumpkin. Instructions for use:

It will not be difficult to make a toy with a slingshot from rubber bands. To weave a bunny you need to follow the description:

Anyone can make a crocodile out of rubber bands if you follow these instructions:

  • you need to start work by weaving the body of the crocodile using the “fish tail” method; it should be about 8 centimeters long;
  • from the body, using the same method, perform the limbs of the crocodile;
  • To make the toy more beautiful, make the last row of legs with brown material, and the eyes with black.

Boys will really like this tank figurine. Stages of work:

  • put on the first rubber band in a figure eight, the second one is simply put on both pins of the slingshot; during operation, the crossed rubber bands need to be lowered to the center;
  • then remove the work from the left pin with a hook and put it on the right one, so you get the body of the tank;
  • the work is completed by completing the barrel: the working material is thrown onto the right pin of the slingshot, the next row is thrown onto both pins, and the previous part is lowered onto the central post. At the end of the work, the final loop is tightened well.

Every summer, teachers at children's camps celebrate a new mass hobby among children. But weaving from rubber bands has remained an unchanged hobby for several years.

Weaving rubber bands on a slingshot is a very interesting activity. For beginning craftsmen, you can find a lot of diagrams on the Internet that will tell you how to weave dolls, animals, 3D peas, a strawberry pen, a flower, a unicorn and other crafts and figures from rubber bands. You can knit the easiest shapes even in just a few minutes. You can do this on a stove, table, bed, in a word, any surface. Knitting helps develop concentration and fine motor skills. This article will present the best lessons on this craft, let's learn to knit together!

Weaving food for dolls from rubber bands on a slingshot

Weaving food for a doll yourself means showing creativity! Even little girls can do this. Below we will describe how to make a pumpkin.

So, we weave a pumpkin:

  1. For this work you will need material in two colors: green and orange. The green color will be used to make the leafy tail of the pumpkin, so you don't need to allocate too many of these rubber bands for the job. But you will need more orange material.
  2. Working with a slingshot involves arranging rubber bands according to a pattern. In this case, you need to make three rows of orange elastic bands, one of which, the central one, should be lowered down. The green rubber bands are at the top in the middle.
  3. The slingshot should be turned towards the person with the part on which there are notches. The first orange elastic band is thrown onto the right side of the slingshot in 3 turns. This is done on the left side as well. The first rubber bands are put on 2 pins of the slingshot.
  4. Elastic bands of three turns are put on the central pin. Then another pair pounces. The previous rubber bands go down.
  5. Similar actions are performed with the third and fourth elastic bands.
  6. To weave the next row, the material is removed from the left post. Subsequent weaving occurs in exactly the same way. Each completed chain is put on the right column.
  7. A pair of green material is attached to a slingshot and a pumpkin is lowered onto them. At the end of the work, you need to tighten the loop.

Weaving a bunny on a slingshot

  1. For such work, you need to prepare not only a slingshot, but also a hook. The bunny should be yellow, but in addition to this material, black is also taken (for the eyes and nose).
  2. The recess of the machine pins should “look” at the master. The first elastic band is wrapped around the post 3 times. After this, 2 others are thrown onto both posts. The first one goes down to the center, the rest do the same. This is how weaving a bunny ear happens.
  3. The last row of the ear is put on the hook. The next pair of blanks is put on the hook onto the left post of the slingshot. The triplets of elastic bands are lowered into the center, after which the next yarn over of material is made.
  4. The second blank is transferred to the right post of the slingshot. The triplets of material are transferred to the left post using a hook. The next workpiece is woven in a similar way. The working technique is called “fishtail”.
  5. To weave the eyes of a bunny, you should throw a black elastic band on the post of the slingshot three times. Further weaving with yellow material is performed in the same way. The eyes should be two yellow rubber bands away. If desired, you can give the animal a black nose. At the end, you will need to pull it forward with a hook so that it becomes convex.

For such work you need to prepare not only a slingshot, but also a hook

How to weave a crocodile?

Anyone can make a toy out of rubber bands, especially if you follow simple patterns. The crocodile should be made from green material to give it the most realistic look.

So, the work is as follows:

  1. Using the fishtail method you need to weave the body of a crocodile. The width of the body is 3 elastic bands. Using this technique, you should weave a fabric no shorter than 7-8 cm. The toy should be quite voluminous. This is a simple method that does not require significant effort from the master.
  2. Then from the body you need to weave the limbs of the reptile. To simplify the task as much as possible, they can be made identical. The weaving technique is similar, fishtail.
  3. To make the crocodile look more beautiful, at the end of weaving the limbs, the row can be finished with brown material. Don't forget about the reptile's eyes! They are woven with black elastic bands.

Anyone can make a toy out of rubber bands, especially if you follow simple diagrams.

At the end of the work, the loop of the last row should be tightened.

Bracelet made of rubber bands on a slingshot

Bracelets made from rubber bands are very bright and beautiful. Below we will describe the method of weaving a bracelet called “Angel Heart”.

Step by step work:

  1. You need to take yellow and green material.
  2. The slingshot is taken so that the open parts of the pillars are facing the master.
  3. The first green elastic band is thrown on as a figure eight, that is, it is twisted between two columns. And then a yellow elastic band is thrown on, but it does not twist.
  4. After this, the green material is crocheted into the center.
  5. The yellow material is then re-thrown over. Crochet the green elastic band down to the right side. Thus, further weaving is performed. If everything is done correctly, then the green material will lie evenly in the center of the bracelet, and the yellow material will be rings in the middle.
  6. If desired, you can weave “Angel Heart” with three colors, constantly alternating the eight-shaped yarn over with a regular one. In this case, the bracelet will be multi-colored, the color of which will not be uniform. This is a matter of taste.

Sushi is a traditional Japanese dish. It consists mainly of different types of raw fish and rice. This dish is recommended to be eaten with soy sauce.

How to weave sushi from rubber bands on a machine?

Materials and tools

Machine.
Hook.
One hundred and fifteen black rubber bands.
Forty white rubber bands.
Sixteen multi-colored rubber bands (to imitate different types of fillings).

How to weave

Remove the central row from the machine - we won’t need it. Turn the columns of the lower side of the machine so that their open sides look to the right, and the top ones to the left.

You will start weaving sushi from rubber bands on a machine from the top part, which will symbolize the filling. In our case, the ingredients for making sushi will be avocado, caviar, red fish, rice (lime, orange, red and white rubber band rings).

Take the green iris and twist it four turns onto the hook.

Twist the next one of the same color on your fingers two turns and hook it onto the tip of the hook, then throw off the previously wound layers of elastic bands onto it.

Return the second loop back to create a figure on the hook.

Place this workpiece on the second lower protrusion of the machine.

We will weave the craft using eight columns - four on each side. The filling will be located on the central four protrusions.

Next, take two irises of a different color (in our example, orange, which symbolize caviar), and do the same operation with them. Place the resulting blank next to it so that it is located on the machine to the right of the green one. By the way, you can weave these blanks even on a slingshot, using one of the sides as a base.

If you have bubble gum, it is better to use them for the filling, so it will look more natural.

With the next color (red fish), do the same, then put the loops on the opposite pin.

Now it's the avocado's turn. Repeat the same steps and transfer the workpiece to the fourth free ledge.

The filling is ready. Now you need to fill the four outermost ridges, this will be rice. In the same way, take the now white irises, twist them four times onto a hook, twist another one on your fingers, hook it and transfer the layers, return the free loop and put it on one of the outermost free pins.

Continue weaving in the same way, making and wearing three more such blanks.

Now you must transfer all types of fillings one by one to the center of the crosshair.

On the second pegs you put another blank for the filling, for this you must make them the same way as you did before.

You continue to weave. To do this, make a crosshair again from white rubber bands, but on adjacent posts.

In the same way as you did earlier, transfer the four fillings that are at the tips of the crosshairs to the middle.

On the next two columns you again put two fillings, make a cross and transfer all four blanks onto it.
Place a pair of white irises around the perimeter of the craft.

Take the hook, grab the bottom row and move it to the top. Do this with all the columns.

As a result, you should get something like this.

Take a couple of black circles and string them onto the first protrusions.

You continue to weave. Using a hook, grab a couple of white layers and throw them over the black rows.

Take the black pair again and string them as shown in the picture.

And now from the second ledge you grab the lower layers and transfer them to the top.

Continue weaving until the rectangle is closed.

Before you cast on the last two loops, remove the one with which we started, because it will interfere with us.

Complete the figure and return the removed layers to their place.

We have the first row of black elastic bands. Now you need to put on the next one, again walking around the perimeter.

In total you will be able to wear eight double irises.

Remove four layers of the bottom row from each pin to the top.

Throw it on in the same way and then move five more rows up.

While weaving from below, use your finger to move the figure so that it comes up.

Now you can remove the craft. To do this, prepare three more black irises - you will throw the whole craft on them.

You make a thread out of them. Thread one iris through the other and grab the first one to make a knot.

Use the third iris to lengthen the craft in the same way. We have a blank with two knots.

Pass the hook through all the layers that are located on the first protrusion and hook one loop of thread, then pull it out, thus threading all the layers.

Hold both ends of the thread and remove the contents from the column.

Throw one loop of thread onto an already empty column.

Pass the second loop in the same way through all the layers of the opposite first column and remove them.

It turned out that one end of the thread remained on your finger, and the other was still on the machine.

You remove this tip and simply tie the resulting two loops into several knots.

To prevent the ends from sticking out, weave them inside the craft. To do this, thread the hook through the entire “body”, hook the protruding edge and pull it into the middle.

Give the craft the desired shape. To do this, press the top so that it looks natural.

That's all!

For details, see the video lesson at the beginning of this method.

As you can see, the craft is quite complex, so it won’t be possible to weave it using forks or a slingshot.
