A beautiful young deer will show off on your table, or maybe on a beautiful handmade postcard. To do this, take a sheet of paper and start doing it as shown in the photo.

  • Square shaped sheet of paper
  • Scissors
  • Marker

Step-by-step photo lesson:

To create a simple deer figurine using the origami technique, take a square-shaped sheet of paper. The color of the paper can come from your capabilities or ideas. For example, to make a New Year's deer, it is better to take white or blue paper, and for a summer craft, brown paper. When the material is already in place, you can begin to work. First of all, fold the sheet in half.

Let's reveal. We bend the sides on the right side. This is how we got the basic shape in origami “Kite”. It is found in many crafts, so you should learn how to make it well.

Now we bend the lower and upper sides on the left side.

We take the central corners and bend them upward to form a new figure.

Fold the craft in half.

Bend the left side at an upward angle.

Then we open and bend this part of the workpiece inward. We get the neck of a deer.

We form the head of the animal. To do this, bend it at an angle to the left side.

Bend the outermost corner slightly to the right.

We turn the base of the head up and get the head of a deer.

Open the corner under the deer’s neck to the left.

Bend it in half at an angle.

Then we will make the hind legs by simply bending the right corner to the left.

And then a little to the right.

From the base of the neck on the right side we make a small incision almost to the top of the head.

Bend upward.

Using a marker, draw the eyes and nose.

Deer and paper using origami technique is ready. Its beautiful shape will decorate any card or gift box.

Video lesson

These animals are mysterious and beautiful, which is why they often appear in ancient myths and on the canvases of artists. Making a paper deer head is not a quick job, it will take time and patience. The finished craft can be given to a friend or used as a table decoration.

Making a paper deer with your own hands

Material and tool:

  1. Sheets of blank or multi-colored thick paper A4 size - 14 pcs.
  2. Plank.
  3. Scissors.
  4. Kernel.
  5. Paste.
  6. Double-sided adhesive tape.
  7. Thread or twine.

This is one of the simplest options for making a paper deer. The template is already ready - print out the pattern of the product, it can be found on the Internet. To make a deer head you will need 10 sheets, and for the horns - 4 leaves. Choose the color yourself, it all depends on your imagination.

Carefully cut out all parts of the product. Then we bend the parts to give them shape and glue them together.

When you print the pattern, you will see lines that mean:

It is necessary to bend on the outside;

You need to bend inward.

Using a strip and scissors, we mark the lines for folding: we place the strip on the segments, and with scissors we draw along the ruler to squeeze out the grooves. Using this technique it will be easier to bend the paper. Instead of scissors, you can use a rod, tweezers or an empty ballpoint pen.

Then glue the resulting parts together according to the numbers that will be on the pattern. You need to glue number to number. This must be done carefully so that excess glue does not stain the front side. You can use a thin brush to glue hard-to-reach places.

The last step is to attach the thread or string to the adhesive tape so that you can hang the deer head on the wall.

The paper deer head is ready!

Origami technique

A deer can also be made from one sheet of paper using the origami technique.

You can rejoice - our deer is ready.

Papier mache

Using this technique, virtually any shape can be made.

To make the product we will need:

  • newspapers;
  • scotch;
  • scissors;
  • PVA glue;
  • paints;
  • cardboard;
  • wooden base for fastening.

You can prepare the glue for this technique yourself. It must be done immediately before work. In a ratio of 1:5, take pre-sifted flour and water. Mix everything until smooth.

There is another recipe for making glue. Pour three parts of water into a saucepan and boil it. Then add some of the flour, reduce the temperature, stir the mixture for 3 minutes, add sugar. Mix the composition and let the paste cool, a film will form on the surface, it must be removed.

Stages of work completion

After all the materials have been prepared, we begin manufacturing the product:

  1. You need to crumple up three newspaper balls of different sizes.
  2. We connect them into a single whole using tape, forming a head.
  3. We wrap the resulting structure in newspaper so that the surface is smooth.
  4. We make the neck of the deer identical to the head.
  5. You need to cut a circle out of cardboard, with which the product will be attached to the wall surface. Glue the circle to the neck.
  6. We tear the newspaper into many small pieces.
  7. We dip each piece into the paste and stick it on the head.
  8. As soon as one layer has been formed, let the product dry for several hours, then glue the next layer using the same technique.
  9. We cut out the animal's ears from cardboard, glue them onto the head and glue them in the same way as we glued the head.
  10. Using a large piece of paper we form the nose; first you need to moisten the paper with glue.
  11. We make protrusions for the eyes.
  12. To make antlers, you can use tree branches or rolled up thick paper.
  13. We also cover the horns with paper using the papier-mâché technique.
  14. We paint the resulting product in different colors and attach it to a wooden base.

Our craft is ready!

How to make a paper deer model.

The New Year is coming soon, it’s time to think about souvenirs and Christmas tree decorations. What will be the topic? - Santa Claus, Snow Maiden, sleigh with gifts and... deer! That's right, we need transport. It is clear that we need reindeer. I came up with two options for making a deer from paper or, better yet, cardboard.

Cardboard reindeer model

Here is my first paper deer:

How to make it was described on my other site... and now the lesson has been moved here.

So, first we draw a deer on cardboard folded in half:

Without straightening the paper, we cut out - oh-pa! - we have two silhouettes of a deer at once!

Apply glue to the head, neck and upper back of one of the silhouettes, from the wrong side, of course.

And glue it together. When the glue sets, slightly spread the horns and legs apart:

Paper reindeer model - 2

Since this is a souvenir or a toy for the Christmas tree, don’t go too far with the size - about the size of your palm is enough.

The pattern is like this:

Completely similar, the production of which we have already mastered. Since we plan to make a souvenir, just a decoration, and not a realistic model of an animal, we won’t be tricky with the bends of the legs. The simpler and stronger the design, the better. So, we fold a sheet of paper (cardboard) in half and from the fold (the fold will be the spinal ridge) we draw the outline of the body of the future deer. The neck, mind you, is very elongated, this is an allowance for bends. Read in detail how to make these folds in the article about paper. But this is a theory; in fact, we find this fold intuitively through selection. In general, we bend our neck up and forward, and, on the contrary, we bend our head.

Now, seeing the size of the deer figurine, you can design suitable antlers. By the way . The antlers of deer are branched and massive, we will try to strengthen them on the head so that they do not hang forward. I cut it out again from folded paper and glued it to the deer’s head with a fold.

A paper deer using a template is a simple craft that does not require much effort or time. You can make a lot of such deer, both in realistic beige-brown colors and in bright, sometimes unexpected colors.

The following materials are used in the work:

  • Deer template;
  • Orange cardboard;
  • Scissors, glue stick, markers.

For this craft, cardboard is a must. If you use regular thin paper, the deer will be very unstable, with its legs spreading out to the sides.

Paper deer according to the template step by step

Use the template provided, print it or redraw it.

And then cut out the deer’s body, its head and antlers along the lines.

Make folds along all the dotted lines of the head and body. If you first outline them with something thin, for example, the blunt side of a knife, the folds will be even and distinct.

Using a glue stick, glue the folded paper on both sides of the head, layering the corners on top of each other. Point your ears up. In the body, glue will be needed to glue the folds at the front and back of the deer. The tail should be raised and slightly bent upward.

Now all that remains is to glue the branched horns onto the resulting head, and attach it to the front of the body.

Then draw eyes with markers and the paper deer according to the template is ready.

Here it is in an unexpected yellow color. But you can also make this character more realistic, for example, make the deer itself from beige cardboard, cut out the antlers from brown cardboard, glue thin strips of the same cardboard to the tips of the legs, or sketch in that area with a brown marker. Or even make a completely white (well, except for the horns) reindeer.
