Lipstick smudges on lips. Top long-lasting lipstick What to do if lipstick runs

Before applying lipstick or gloss, moisturize and exfoliate your lips. To do this, you can use a soft toothbrush - it will remove rough and dry skin on the lips. If this is not done, the lipstick will lie unevenly on dry areas. Instead of a toothbrush, you can use a lip scrub, which can be used.

Lip balm

To prevent lipstick from spreading, lips should be as smooth and moisturized as possible. Use a moisturizing lip balm, rubbing it in with your finger after application until completely absorbed. Remove excess with a dry cloth.

Lip primer with wax

Apply Urban Decay's Ultimate Ozone Multi-Purpose Lip Primer, extending slightly beyond the lip line. The wax acts like glue and prevents the lipstick from bleeding.

Lip pencil

Use a lip pencil and draw an outline. Shade the lips inside the contour with the same pencil. This technique will give additional durability to the lipstick.

Add gloss

Applying lip gloss is quite a delicate matter. If you decide to apply gloss over the lipstick, then do the following: to prevent the gloss from sticking out beyond the contour, apply a little product to the middle of your lips and do not close them too tightly. This will distribute the gloss over the surface of the lips and prevent it from “floating” beyond the contour.

There are unfortunate situations in life when lipstick smears on your lips. It doesn't look nice or neat. I have to constantly correct my makeup. I'll tell you a few tips that I use myself and they really help a lot.

1. Tip #1. After you have painted your lips, blot them with a dry cloth, and then apply another layer of lipstick. This clever method allows the first layer to absorb excess oils contained in the lipstick, and only the coloring pigment will remain on the lips, and it will be absorbed into the lips. And the second layer will already be like a protective one. And the color will last longer on the lips and will not spread.

2. Tip #2. Before applying lipstick, use a lip pencil. Choose a shade that matches your lipstick. After drawing the contour of the lips with a pencil, you can apply lipstick.
The pencil acts as a “frame”, that is, it prevents the lipstick from spreading beyond the boundaries of the pencil and, as it were, holds the lipstick.

3. Tip #3. Before applying lipstick, apply some foundation and powder to your lips. This will serve as a base for lip makeup. The powder mattifies the skin and accordingly removes excess fat. This means the lipstick will not smear. You can use transparent powder and either compact or loose powder will do.

4. Tip #4. Choose a lipstick that is not moisturizing. If the regular one contains normal amounts of oils, then the moisturizing one has a very large amount. It is more suitable for those with dry skin, then you can safely buy and the lipstick will not smudge.

Choose long-lasting lipsticks. They last better and longer on the lips. But you should avoid liquid lipstick, as it will definitely smudge. In winter, girls rarely encounter this problem, but in summer it is very common. This is due to the heat, the lipstick “melts” and sebum is produced more actively, and then it turns out that everything spreads on the lips. These simple tips will help you cope with this problem and you will be guaranteed beautiful makeup all year round!

Here you are going on an important date or a party, or maybe just to work. I put on beautiful makeup, styled my hair, picked out an outfit, and it’s time to leave the house. A check look in the mirror - everything is fine! But as time passes, you suddenly see your reflection somewhere in a car mirror or in an office restroom and you realize that not everything is in order. Lipstick has let you down! What to do to prevent lipstick from running?

Regardless of what time of year it is outside, we very often encounter such an annoying nuisance when lipstick spreads, getting into small wrinkles around the lips. The spectacle is not for the faint of heart, let me tell you. And I really want it to stay in its original form for as long as possible, especially if there’s a long evening ahead...

There is such a little trick that every girl who loves to wear bright, colored lipsticks should know.

First of all, you should buy a high-quality, long-lasting lipstick. These can be found at most cosmetics manufacturers. All you have to do is choose the right shade of lipstick for your type of appearance.

So you bought the treasured case, good quality lipstick, when applied to the lips you practically don’t feel as if it’s melting on them.

However, before applying lipstick, the best option is to dust your sponge a little with compact powder.

Next, apply a generous layer of the chosen lipstick. After this, press a regular paper napkin to your lips, which will remove the top glossy and shiny layer of lipstick. Next, apply a second layer of lipstick.

If it’s a hot summer outside, then to ensure even more reliable and lasting application of the product, after the first layer, you need to press a paper napkin with your lips and then lightly powder your lips again. And then apply a final layer of lipstick.

That's the whole secret! You should definitely try it on yourself, because this way to avoid lipstick smudging is very effective.

In addition, you can purchase a colorless pencil that contains natural waxes. With its help, you can draw the contour of your lips before applying lipstick and during the entire time it will not “run away” anywhere, maintaining the beauty and original form of application.

By applying these tips, you can look great in almost any situation and be completely confident that everything is in order with your appearance!

Choose the composition

The composition of cosmetics is of great importance, for example, too liquid or waxy lipstick will quickly wear off. In addition, they can creep into the wrinkles around the lips, which also does not look the best. A way out of the situation can be lip varnishes; they are usually denser in structure and have more pigment, so they will last on the lips much longer.

USE A PENCIL

First you need to make a contour, then shade your lips with a pencil, and only after that apply lipstick. The pencil will create the necessary barrier and prevent the lipstick from spreading along the line around the mouth, and will also make the color richer.

PAPER THANKS

After applying lipstick, blot your lips with a napkin and paint them again. Our grandmothers used this technique, but over time it has not become less effective. Another way to increase the life of lipstick on your lips is to apply a little powder using a paper handkerchief to the first layer of lipstick with a brush. On top, you can either paint your lips again with the same lipstick, or apply gloss.

Powder

To prevent lipstick from getting into wrinkles and cracks along the contour of your lips, powder the area around your mouth with powder before applying it. This way you will fill in the gaps and the lipstick will go on smoother.

SCRUB

There is nothing worse when lipstick is applied to dry and chapped lips. Use a lip scrub to remove flaking and a balm to soften the skin.

BRUSH

Makeup artists advise applying lipstick with a brush, so it will lay down in a more even and thin layer. Another advantage of this method of application is the ability to draw an even outline over the pencil.

We tested whether 5 long-lasting lipsticks can withstand a hearty and delicious breakfast. And we went to eat porridge and omelettes at the “Shater” restaurant.
“Shouldn’t we eat?” — the founders and trainees of Beauty Insider once thought. And at the same time they came up with why: of course, food is the best way to check whether lipstick really holds up well or is it just another promise. Especially greasy food - it destroys even lipsticks labeled “very long lasting.”

As a result, one Saturday morning in December we went to have breakfast at the “Shater” restaurant on Chistoprudny Boulevard and sat down at a large table overlooking the pond. Which, by the way, as usual in winter, turned into a skating rink - so while we devoured cheesecakes and omelettes, we watched dad outside the window teaching the kid how to skate (mimimi -)).

MAC Pro Longwear Lipcream

Tested by Karina Tumanskaya

Food: cheesecakes with strawberry jam and tea

Impression

I would never have thought that I could like a lipstick of this shade - carrot-orange. But, to my surprise, it fit quite harmoniously into my appearance. In general, it refreshed what was needed - it was emphasized, and where it needed to be highlighted - it was highlighted. And even my fear that it would make my teeth visually more yellow was not justified. So if anyone decides that it’s urgent for him, my shade is called Good to wear.

At first, the stick itself scared me - it was thick, without the classic fondant cut. And in general, it’s kind of too big for my lip size. But it turned out that this is the most convenient way to paint. I ran the center of the stick over my lips, and the pointed edge along the contour. In the “Tent” there was still a need to correct my makeup with a cotton swab, but at home I succeeded in my second attempt to make up my lips immediately, almost on the run and without any correction, which, you see, is also an achievement for a bright color.

I won’t find fault with the longevity either - at first it seemed to me that the lipstick didn’t budge from my lips. It was only thanks to the photo that I realized that the pigment did come off, but it came off evenly and not all—it just became less bright. This residual pigment stayed with me all day. The lips did not dry out and the overall sensation was comfortable, except for a slight stickiness at the very beginning (even before the cheesecakes). So insignificant that I don't even know if it's appropriate to mention it.

And the cheesecakes in Shatra are beautiful and tasty, yes. And I’m amazed once again how and where they manage to get such tasty and juicy strawberries, melons, and watermelons.

Guerlain Rouge G L'Extrait

Tested by Lena Loginova

Food: salmon pancakes and omelet. I have noted this place for myself to come in sometimes for a meal after classes (I study nearby).

Impression

The color of Guerlain Rouge G L'Extrait lipstick is simply gorgeous (shade M25) - an aristocratic neutral red, both bright and not provocative. It does not emphasize redness and visually makes teeth whiter. In general, “that same red” that will suit, if not everyone, then most.

Rouge G L'Extrait also has a cool bottle - heavy, metal, with a built-in mirror. So what, I managed to understand how the lipstick opens in about two minutes -))

The problems started with the sponge: it is too thick, and the lipstick is too liquid for such an applicator, so only a sniper could accurately draw the contour with it. And he would utter several curse words. It took me two attempts, a couple of cotton swabs with micellar water and one almost-nervous-breakdown to understand: it’s better to use a sponge and a brush.

In this photo I’m unsuccessfully trying to draw the outline, wondering why it’s so easy for everyone, but not for me :)

The texture of the lipstick is liquid and very comfortable - as if you were applying cosmetic milk to remove makeup on your lips. However, as soon as the first layer is absorbed, strange bald spots appear, as if in some places the lipstick is absorbed into the skin, but in others it is not. However, the second layer easily corrects this.

Guerlain Rouge G L'Extrait also stains teeth. Moreover, it stains even when, it would seem, all excess has been removed. I erased all the excess, then five minutes passed - and again there was a sketch in crimson tones on my teeth.

In general, this is not a “set it and forget it” lipstick. The pros are the color and the fact that it doesn’t dry out your lips at all.

Longevity turned out to be average: after eating, the lipstick disappeared from the center of the lips, but the contour remained in place. I had to touch up the color (and again all these difficulties with bald spots and red teeth). After touching up, I didn’t eat, but I talked a lot, and the lipstick held up well (about 6 hours before washing off).

Catrice Made To Stay Smoothing Lip Polish

Tested by Yulia Grebenkina

Food: oatmeal with water and omelette with tomatoes (I take this opportunity to say hello to my coach -)). Excellent oatmeal, by the way, which inspired me to slightly revise the recipe, as I make it myself at home.

Impression

Lipstick is actually a pigment-rich liquid gloss, not lipstick (and is officially called Lip Polish). My shade is a bright, cool fuchsia (060 Mission PinkPossible), which is what I usually love (though I love it in a matte version).

The lipstick is easily applied with a sponge, I even managed to draw the contour without any problems the first time, looking in a small mirror.

It fits well, does not spread beyond the contour of the lips (although when I tried it on my hand, it did spread).

But the durability turned out to be average, despite the loud name Made to Stay: it immediately began to imprint on the cup of tea, although not critically (the first “Before” photo is just after the cup). The lipstick somehow survived the oatmeal, and during the omelette it began to disappear from the inside of the lips (I don’t like it most when lipsticks do this). Plus the pigment has faded significantly and partially worn off.

I then wore it a couple more times - still, if you don’t eat in it, then it lives very well for such a “lipstick-gloss” format. And it’s not easy to wash it off - it’s better to use special products, otherwise a little pigment will still remain.

Chanel Rouge Double Intensite

Tested by Sveta Grishina

Food: an omelette, which turned out to be very tasty and ended treacherously quickly. Cheesecakes are exactly the way I like them (I generally love them very much, and due to the “figure requires sacrifices, not cheesecakes”, they have been my secret desire for the last couple of months). Airy, non-greasy, with a barely noticeable golden crust and not too sweet (for their sake, I would test a few more long-lasting lipsticks at Shatra :)). And cappuccino. A morning is not a morning without delicious coffee (although you can still clearly see how long I put the child to bed the night before).

Impression

I don't really like long lasting lipsticks. For a completely banal reason - they dry. Especially in winter, when my lips are constantly dry. And you can’t go anywhere without balm. But there are occasions and circumstances when you can’t do without long-lasting lipstick (oh, those not-so-pleasant moments when color prints that are not at all aesthetically pleasing remain on a cup or glass).

Pomade Chanel Rouge Double Intensite - double-sided (color base + transparent gloss). The shade I had was Coral Crush #39, which is very pretty. It is moderately bright, quite versatile and very refreshing. But, to my personal regret, on me it completely turns orange-carrot and there is no pink that I need. At all. I would like it to be the other way around.

The color base is quite thick and well pigmented. Therefore, it must be applied a) in moderation, b) better the first time and c) confidently and without distraction. The second layer goes on worse. By the way, the foundation is applied with a sponge applicator. To accurately and evenly paint the contour of the lips, it is simply ideal.

The colored part of the lipstick on the lips becomes matte, quickly “sets” and, yes, dries out. Therefore, the glitter here is not just for beauty. It softens the lips and adds a lacquered shine.

Everything became clear about durability during breakfast. When, after a few sips of coffee, I discovered that lipstick was imprinted on the edge of the cup.

As a result, the lipstick really came off from the inside of my lips in the center. Some unsightly pieces. And there was no trace left of the shine at all. After that, I applied foundation and gloss again (well, I can’t go with lips like that, honestly). And the lipstick lasted for almost three hours without any complaints. At the same time, I kissed the baby, drank water and sang along to the radio in the car. Then I forcibly removed the lipstick (two-phase eye makeup remover did a great job with this, by the way).

Perhaps hot drinks and lipsticks just don't mix. So it's either coffee or makeup.

Make Up For Ever Aqua Rouge

Tested by Lena Korenkova

Food: oatmeal with dried fruits and cheesecakes. I finished the porridge to the bottom (which is unusual for me), and the cheesecakes... how can they even be tasteless?)

Impression

MUFE captivated me with a stunning coral shade - No. 17. It seems that I tried a hundred similar ones and almost resigned myself to the fact that lipsticks of this color are capricious and do not cover my rather bright lip pigment (in the process I came up with the easiest possible definition of what I need - carrot juice , well diluted with cream). Apparently, due to the stable texture, MUFE resulted in real beauty - the same color in the tube is the same on the lips. Ideal against a light tan:

A phone photo best conveys the beauty of color.

Applying lipstick in an even layer without bald spots or streaks turned out to be difficult: the brush did not help, but on the contrary, it complicated the situation. I had to deal with the applicator included in the kit and apply the color using tamping movements. I don’t think this is too critical; after all, long-lasting lipsticks are long-lasting, so you can apply them responsibly once and then forget about their existence.

After absorption, it became clear that this lipstick plans to survive not only breakfast, but also dinner! It felt like it had grabbed tightly, and I began testing it without any accuracy - coffee was coffee, cheesecakes were cheesecakes! Surprisingly, what I saw on my lips after was sadder than I expected. The color did not fade, but there were traces of coffee in several places (!), and the most unpleasant thing was that the inner border at the junction of the lips was unevenly eaten away. A couple of hours later, when I got home, it looked like cracked plaster, I had to wash it all off quickly.

It’s painfully impossible for me to draw impartial conclusions - for the color that I love so much, I want to forgive everything. Aqua Rouge is definitely durable, but requires careful attention and a mirror at hand. As a last resort, healthy self-irony, because even worn-out lipstick is just lipstick :)

Dior Addict Be Iconic Extreme

Tested by Masha Botvinina

Food: breakfast should be tasty to lift your spirits, and light so that you don’t want to lazily collapse on the sofa later. So I had oatmeal with milk and dried fruits (by the way, they also make it with water), cheesecakes with strawberries and a healthy cup of cappuccino. And right outside the window there were kids skating on the ice - incredibly cute)

A good lipstick can transform your look from basic to stunning, but it requires knowing exactly how to apply your lipstick correctly. Learn the most common mistakes to always look perfect.

You don't outline your lips

If you don’t want to notice by the evening that your lips are outlined with an untidy circle of lipstick around the edges, don’t forget about a contour pencil. Smeared lipstick doesn't make anyone look good, so eyeliner is a must—it will help your lipstick stick better. To prevent the edge from becoming too clear, try running the pencil along your hand first to make its edge softer. You will get a very natural and beautiful lip contour. Also, remember to never use the wrong shade. If you line your lips with a shade darker than your natural color, they will appear fuller, but it's easy to go overboard and end up looking unattractive. It is better to avoid such a mistake in order to always look neat.

You outline your lips far beyond the edges

The only thing worse than not using a contour pencil is using it incorrectly. Delicate eyeliner perfectly accentuates the lips, but a line drawn far beyond the natural limits of the lips will make your face look like a clown. For a perfect silhouette that doesn't show off, line the outside of your lips with concealer, then use a small brush to blend it all out. After this, draw a contour pencil just beyond the natural edge of the lips. Try applying a little highlighter centered under your bottom lip to make your lips appear even fuller. Believe me, this is a wonderful way!

You're wearing too much glitter

Using lip gloss is a really good way to add volume to your lips, but don't be too overzealous with the application. If you don't want to look like you've dipped your mouth in syrup, use very little makeup. Layering lipstick is necessary for a more lasting result, but one layer of gloss is enough, otherwise a sticky disaster will immediately occur on your face.

You don't exfoliate your skin before applying makeup

It's widely known that lipstick tends to highlight dryness and lines on the lips, which is why it's important to use an exfoliator before applying makeup. If you apply makeup to dry, chapped lips, you accentuate every imperfection. In addition, cosmetics will not last on dry skin, and the appearance will instantly deteriorate. If you want a smooth and elegant look, try using an exfoliating scrub. This will allow you to look flawless without any extra effort.

You use lipstick that dries out your lips

Matte lipsticks are quite harsh on the skin of the lips. Try to always apply moisturizer before you apply this lipstick. Also, be sure to bring chapstick with you to apply throughout the day. Try to choose cosmetics with natural oils and waxes, for example, shea or coconut butter, as well as vitamin E and hyaluronic acid. This will help you protect the moisture level of your lips and achieve a neat look without flaking or cracking.

You apply regular lipstick immediately after applying hygienic lipstick

Contrary to popular belief, applying chapstick right before you proceed with your makeup is not a good idea at all. As a result, you will only mix lipstick and balm together and get an untidy mass. In other words, you'll be smearing the balm onto your lips rather than applying color. Try to start your makeup with chapstick and end with regular lipstick. In this case, the balm will already be perfectly absorbed into the skin of the lips. If you apply makeup very quickly and your lips still feel sticky, use a tissue to blot off any excess lip balm. This will allow you to avoid problems when applying color to your lips.

You don't blot your lips with a napkin

There are few things more frustrating than looking in the mirror and discovering that you've been walking around with lipstick smeared on your teeth for who knows how many hours. Of course, you want the lipstick to stay on your lips and not get into your mouth. The easiest way is to use a napkin. Blot your lips with it, and then place your index finger in your mouth and squeeze your lips around it. All excess lipstick will remain on your finger, and your makeup will not spoil your smile. This is a proven method that works very effectively.

You don't use powder to finish your makeup

This step will allow you to achieve the ideal longevity of your lipstick. If you skip it, the lipstick can quickly disappear from your lips, leaving untidy marks. Apply primer with matching eyeliner to ensure your makeup lasts for a long time, then use powder as a great way to set your lipstick in place. Your makeup will last until the evening without any changes!

You're using a shade that doesn't match your skin tone

Like foundation, lipstick has an undertone. If you don't know how to choose the right shade according to your skin tone, your makeup will seem quite off-putting. When choosing lipstick, always focus on your skin color. Lipstick that is too dark can make you look like a vampire, while lipstick that is too pale can make your face look sallow. Take a few minutes more than usual to choose, to take into account all the nuances and find the shade that can really decorate you!

You're using a shade that doesn't fit with the decor

There are a huge variety of different lipsticks from which you can make your choice. However, it is worth understanding that different options are appropriate in different circumstances. For example, lipstick full of glitter is suitable for a photo shoot, but will not fit into a business style. Choose subtle, understated colors for your work environment. For a formal evening, you can't go wrong if you prefer a classic red or a shade of beige. Consider these details, and then your lipstick will always seem like a great solution!
