Elos cosmetic procedure. Elos rejuvenation - faces, photos before and after the procedure. Contraindications to elos rejuvenation. How is the procedure performed?

Elos-rejuvenation is an innovative technology that combines the simultaneous use of broadband light and bipolar electrical energy (IPL+RF). This is the most common technology, although a combination of diode laser and bipolar current (Diode laser + RF) and infrared radiation and bipolar current (IR + RF) is also used for elos rejuvenation.

Classic laser skin rejuvenation involves the use of only light energy, which significantly limits the depth of penetration into the skin and is determined by the wavelength of the light. And only ELOS technology allows you to influence the deep layers of the dermis, stimulating the synthesis of your own collagen and elastin and providing a rejuvenating effect from the inside. After all, with the loss of collagen and elastin, our skin gradually loses its beauty.

Cosmetologists determine collagen deficiency by simply pinching the skin of the upper eyelid: if it does not smooth out immediately, it’s time to take action. An important role in the formation of collagen is played by female and male sex hormones - estrogen and testosterone. In men, testosterone levels decrease gradually. This helps them maintain bone density, muscle strength longer, and look noticeably younger than their peers. In women during premenopause and menopause, estrogen production drops sharply, which means collagen production decreases, which immediately affects appearance.

Elos rejuvenation provides a comprehensive effect in facial rejuvenation:

  • smoothing wrinkles;
  • skin tightening (non-surgical facelift);
  • lifting the oval area of the face and neck (the oval of the face can be tightened very quickly);
  • rejuvenation of the skin of the face, chest and arms, and even the abdomen and buttocks.

Elos rejuvenation is optimal both for improving the condition of mature skin in women and men, and for preventing aging and is recommended from the age of 30.

For comprehensive and long-term skin tightening, five to six sessions every 4 weeks are sufficient.

The principle of operation of elos - rejuvenation

Exposure to a light pulse to identify and heat a target (pigment formations, blood vessels, wrinkles) is not used for thermolysis, as in standard light technologies (laser or IPL), but to create a temperature difference between the target and adjacent tissues.

Due to the conversion of light energy into heat, the temperature in these structures rises, at the same time the electrical resistance in them drops and they become selective conductors of current.

The current acts exclusively on the target to the point of coagulation or destruction, with minimal effect on other tissues.

Intense heating of the skin at the dermis level stimulates additional synthesis of collagen fibers. This effect is cumulative and increases from procedure to procedure.

Rejuvenation is not only about getting rid of wrinkles. Young healthy skin is beautiful because it has no defects in the form of pigment spots or blood vessels, the complexion is even, the texture is smooth.

Therefore, first of all, elos rejuvenation is recommended in the presence of such skin defects as:

  • dark spots;
  • keratosis;
  • vascular defects;
  • small wrinkles;
  • gray complexion;
  • enlarged pores;
  • traces of acne and blackheads;
  • Rosacea.

Simultaneously with the removal of defects, the effect of tension, radiance and elasticity of the skin is achieved.

The first effect of skin tension and rejuvenation observed for several days after the first procedure.

But the formation of new collagen and elastin, stimulated by this elos-rejuvenation session, will appear only after 4-5 weeks. The achieved effect must be consolidated with a series of impacts from 4 to 6. The interval between procedures should be 4 to 6 weeks. Elos-rejuvenation sessions can be repeated 1-2 times a year, depending on the severity of the symptoms of skin photoaging.

Visual changes immediately after the procedure is individual, but on average you can focus on the following periods:

  1. Red vascular defects become darker. The pores become narrower. Within 30 minutes there is slight redness and slight swelling;
  2. A few days after the procedure, areas of hyperpigmentation and areas of skin with rosacea may darken, sometimes a crust forms, since the effect in these areas is most intense;
  3. Mild swelling and erythema (redness) after the procedure are expected side effects. As a rule, they disappear within the first 24 hours; After 3 days, the facial skin becomes lighter, its texture improves, swelling disappears, a significant lifting effect is noted, but pigment and vascular defects are still noticeable;
  4. Pigment spots begin to lighten 2–4 weeks after the procedure, vascular defects fade after 8–10 weeks.

Contraindications for elos-rejuvenation:

  • Having an artificial pacemaker, defibrillator or cochlear implant;
  • History of cancer of the skin or internal organs;
  • The presence of metal implants in the treatment area;
  • Pregnancy, lactation;
  • Immunodeficiency conditions (AIDS, HIV), as well as the use of immunosuppressants;
  • Lupus erythematosus, porphyria, erosion, erythema, dermatoses;
  • Herpes, lichen planus;
  • Epilepsy;
  • Diabetes;
  • Keloid scars, very dry skin;
  • Heavy tanning during the last 4 weeks before treatment;
  • Taking photosensitizing drugs during the last 2 weeks before elos-rejuvenation, retinoids during the last 6 months before the procedure.

Elos is one of the most gentle methods and it is virtually impossible to get burns if all operating rules are followed, but in practice it turns out differently. And first of all, this is due to the irresponsibility of some cosmetologists. Any elos procedure is accompanied by the application of a thick layer of special gel to the skin. Thrifty craftsmen apply a small amount of gel, which practically does not perform its protective functions, and if you work without using gel at all, the burn is 100% guaranteed.

In other cases, burns may occur due to improper use of the device. Different areas of the skin have different levels of sensitivity and therefore require adjustment of the nozzle. For example, hand rejuvenation requires much more installation power than eyelid rejuvenation. If you use the same intensity for both areas, the eyelid area will be severely burned.

It is not recommended to apply face and body rejuvenation during the period of the most active sun, especially for persons with light and thin skin. And ladies with heavily tanned skin should refrain from procedures for a while. At the same time, it is still worth taking into account the human factor. Not every client admits that he violated the ban or forgot to apply sunscreen, although, it would seem, he carried out minor rejuvenation of the skin of his hands.

Why does the contour of the face become unclear and the skin sagging?

You can encounter such an unpleasant consequence if you perform elos facial rejuvenation at intervals of less than once a month. If you do the procedures more often, you can achieve the opposite effect. This is due to the human skin regeneration cycle, which is 28 days. The destruction of collagen fibers occurs constantly under the influence of collagenase and other enzymes, which “grind” them even more. The amino acids formed in this process are involved in the construction of cells and the restoration of collagen. In a young healthy body, the cycle of destruction and synthesis is about 1 month, and collagen turnover is 6 kg per year. After 25-30 years, dissimilation constantly increases and gradually begins to prevail over synthesis, as a result of which, with increasing age, the content of this protein in the skin gradually decreases. Collagen restoration in middle age is already approaching 3 kg.

Its fibers are destroyed and become stiff and brittle, damaged, fragmented collagen accumulates, as a result of which the skin becomes less strong and elastic, becomes thinner, becomes sagging and spotty, dryness increases due to the loss of the protein’s ability to retain water molecules, and wrinkles form. The resulting ptosis (sagging) of tissues reduces the mechanical tension of cells, leading to their collapse (falling) and damage to fibroblasts that regulate collagen synthesis. Thus, a vicious circle is closed. Therefore, collagen is called the protein of youth. If elos-rejuvenation procedures are performed more often, weak, unformed collagen fibers are torn, which leads to sagging and sagging skin. Some cosmetologists simply do not know about this, and some, wanting to earn more money, prescribe the maximum possible course of rejuvenation procedures. Elos technology is facial rejuvenation without surgery, the method is effective and safe, but in the hands of a good specialist. All negative consequences are in no way related to the technology itself, but only to the incompetence and negligence of the cosmetologist, so be vigilant when choosing your master.

ELOS-rejuvenation

ELOS rejuvenation is an innovative hardware technique for correcting age-related skin changes, combining the effects of light (IPL) and radio wave (RF) energy.

During an ELOS rejuvenation session, the light flux is absorbed by target tissues. These are melanin and hemoglobin. Light energy is converted into heat, and high-frequency electric current intensively but selectively affects heated tissues. This allows you to effectively combat hyperpigmentation and rosacea (vascular network), evening out the complexion without damaging surrounding tissues. The skin warms up, neocollagenogenesis (production of new collagen) is stimulated. As a result, the skin becomes thicker, and we can even see a lifting effect. All this together gives a rejuvenating effect.

  • in the treatment of hyperpigmentation, rosacea and TAE (dilated visible vessels);
  • even out the skin and acquire a healthy, radiant complexion;
  • get thicker and more elastic skin, due to this some face lifting;
  • reduce the depth of wrinkles.

Contraindications

  • Pregnancy, lactation.
  • Any oncology/neoplastic processes.
  • Skin damage in the affected area.
  • Some dermatological pathologies.
  • Severe decompensated somatic diseases.
  • New growths in the treatment area.
  • A tan.
  • Taking medications that increase photosensitivity.
  • Age - up to 18 years.

Not all of the above contraindications are absolute; the degree of risk is determined by the doctor during the consultation.

How is the ELOS rejuvenation procedure performed?

ELOS therapy does not damage the epidermis. A conductive gel is applied to the face (or other area), and the patient's eyes are protected with special glasses. After this, the procedure itself is carried out - the surface of the skin is evenly treated with the appropriate attachment. Each flash feels a little “hot” and a little “biting”, but overall the procedure is quite comfortable. It is well tolerated by patients and does not require anesthesia. To reduce discomfort, the working surface of the nozzle is cooled, which also prevents overheating of the upper layer of the epidermis.

Duration, required number of ELOS rejuvenation procedures

Depending on the correction area, the session lasts from 10 to 30 minutes. After the ELOS rejuvenation procedure, slight hyperemia of the skin occurs, which goes away on its own in a period of 30 minutes to 2-3 hours.

To achieve a lasting aesthetic effect, the course of hardware procedures includes from 4 to 6 sessions. ELOS rejuvenation is carried out once every 3-4 weeks.

Side effects

Side effects after this procedure are rare. The most common:

  • skin hyperpigmentation (if recommendations are not followed and sun exposure without an SPF block);
  • peeling;
  • tingling sensation;
  • temporary redness at the site of the procedure.

All of them go away on their own and do not require treatment. Sometimes a second consultation with a cosmetologist may be required.

Benefits of ELOS

  • Versatility: ELOS rejuvenation is effective in combating age-related skin changes, especially with defects such as rosacea and hyperpigmentation on the face, hands and neck.
  • Lasting result: the hardware effect affects the deep layers of the dermis, and the stimulation of collagen synthesis is cumulative - the effect increases after each procedure.
  • No rehabilitation - the ELOS procedure does not damage the epidermis, and immediately after the session you can use decorative cosmetics and return to your usual activities.
  • ELOS rejuvenation is perfectly combined with injection rejuvenating techniques - biorevitalization, plasma lifting.

You can sign up for the ELOS rejuvenation course at the DOCTORPLASTIC clinic online or by phone in Moscow.

Our advantages

Cosmetology does not stand still, but is constantly evolving. One of the products of this development is the ELOS device.

With its help, simply changing the attachments, you can perform a whole range of beauty treatments for the skin. It is its versatility that attracts cosmetologists and salon owners.

Let's try to figure out what this device is, what results can be achieved with its help, and how comfortable the procedure will be.

What is ELOS-cosmetology

This technology was invented more than 10 years ago in Israel by SYNERON Medical, but it has only now begun to gain popularity.

The reason for this phenomenon is most likely that the technology was not perfect initially, but over the years since the appearance of the first device, it has been significantly improved. Efficiency has increased; in addition, the procedure has become more comfortable and safer.

It is interesting that the ELOS device was initially developed as an alternative to photoepilation. This device combines two technologies at once:

  • light flashes, as in photoepilation devices;
  • bipolar radio frequency radiation, as in RF devices.

In fact, the very name of the ELOS technology is an abbreviation - Electro-Optical Sinergy - electro-optical interaction.

It is the consonant action of these two forces that increases the effectiveness of the procedure. Moreover, soon cosmetologists working with ELOS noticed that the skin in the treatment areas simply transformed over time. Wrinkles, small scars, spider veins and much more disappear.

It turned out that double exposure to the skin encourages it to rejuvenate, stimulates the production of collagen, elastin and hyaluronic acid. Thus, the ELOS device significantly expanded its spectrum of action.

It can be used to carry out the following procedures:

  • non-invasive;
  • removal of age spots;
  • treatment of acne, acne and comedones.

ELOS device and hair removal (4 pluses)

Regular photoepilation is good for everyone. It is quite effective and comfortable, but still, it has several disadvantages. It was precisely in order to bypass them that the ELOS system was developed at one time. What are the advantages of ELOS over photoepilation? Let's get a look:

  1. Photoepilation is powerless in working with blond and gray hair; ELOS copes with this previously impossible task.
  2. The procedure stops hair growth, but does not destroy the hair follicle; ELOS hair removal affects the deeper layers of the skin and completely destroys the hair follicle.
  3. Photoepilation often gives in to skin that is too dark: tanned or naturally dark; the ELOS device is capable of destroying follicles on even the tanned skin.
  4. The ELOS device is equipped with an additional function - it cools the surface of the skin, preventing the formation of burns.

Hair removal using the ELOS device is non-contact, which also reduces the risk of drama.

In order to completely get rid of unwanted body hair, you will need from 4 to 10 procedures, depending on the individual characteristics of the skin and hair structure.

At least 1.5 months must pass between procedures. This is due to the processes of skin restoration, in addition, during this time all the effects produced by the device have time to appear.

Rejuvenation using the ELOS device

This possibility of ELOS technology, like many others, was discovered by chance during the process of observing patients who came for hair removal. The skin in those places that were treated with the device was noticeably better: more toned, elastic, and moisturized.

During the study, we found that the combined effect of light and radio radiation causes epidermal cells to more intensively produce substances necessary to maintain the natural beauty of the skin:

  • collagen;
  • elastin;
  • hyaluronic acid.

This is what we try to bring into the skin using various anti-aging creams and injections.

However, obtained from the outside, these substances do not work as effectively as those produced by the skin itself. Therefore, stimulating their production is much more profitable.

Another undeniable advantage of ELOS rejuvenation is that it is a non-invasive method; the skin does not even come into contact with the device’s attachments, much less is damaged.

The first results of the procedure are noticeable already on the 3-4th day: enlarged pores narrow, sebum production decreases. However, to obtain a more serious effect, more time will, of course, be required.

For rejuvenation, as for hair removal, several sessions are necessary. The amount depends on the patient’s age and the condition of his skin.

Removing pigment spots

Freckles and other pigmentation disorders can cause a lot of trouble for a woman. Often they do not look aesthetically pleasing. You can also fight this problem using ELOS technology.

Already from the first use, pigmentation becomes poorer, and several sessions will completely eliminate it, giving the skin a uniform, pleasant, healthy color.

Spider vein removal

Facial vessels that have burst or are simply too close to the skin do not paint. And getting rid of them is quite difficult if you do not resort to the ELOS device.

The dual exposure of light flashes and bipolar radio waves causes the vessels to close/connect. Blood stops flowing through them, which means they will no longer be visible through the skin.

By the way, the process itself will cause you discomfort, maybe even slight pain.

Modern technologies do not yet make it possible to make the closure of blood vessels painless.
In addition, this technology will not get rid of swollen veins. In this case, surgery cannot be avoided.

Moreover, as you will see below, varicose veins in the treatment area is one of the contraindications to the use of the ELOS device.

Acne treatment

ELOS therapy helps narrow pores and reduce sebum production. In addition, the flash of light kills bacteria. It is thanks to these properties that it allows you to treat acne, acne, comedones and other types of pimples at any stage of the disease.

Light kills bacteria, and radio waves reduce fat production. Bacteria growth slows down, and pores become smaller, trapping less dirt that can clog your skin.

Under this influence, the number of acne quickly decreases. Moreover, the beneficial effect will last for about a year after the end of the course of procedures.

Question answer

Lightening occurs due to the destruction of melanin in cells, and it is this that causes pigment spots on the skin.

You need to understand that this technique only works with small vessels and capillaries.

Preparation for the procedure (5 prohibitions)

Like any medical procedure, ELOS requires special preparation. However, in this case the requirements are minimal.

They mainly concern what cannot be done:

  • 2 weeks in advance you must stop tanning;
    any injections in the treatment area are also undesirable;
  • prohibited at this time and or;
  • 3-4 days in advance, eliminate any procedures that irritate the skin, including home peels and hot baths;
  • If we are talking about ELOS hair removal, then two days in advance you need to shave the hair in the chosen place.

The last requirement is due to the fact that the body of the hair heats up more than the skin. It turns out that your own hair can cause a burn.

How is the procedure performed using the ELOS device?

The skin must be cleansed of all impurities. Clean skin is covered with a special electrically conductive gel to ensure deeper treatment of the epidermis.

Then the patient is put on special glasses, which should protect his eyes from flashes of light. Moreover, glasses are put on the patient not only in case of facial treatment. No matter what part of the body is to be ennobled, the eyes still need to be protected.

The next step is, in fact, the treatment of the skin using the ELOS device manipulator. Each area of skin is treated with one flash. In some cases, 2-3 flashes may be required.

The time of one session depends on the complexity of the problem being solved and the area of the surface being treated. Usually this takes 20-30 minutes, but in some cases the procedure can take 1.5 hours.

Skin care after the ELOS procedure

After treating the skin with the ELOS device, it requires special care for some time.

  1. For the first three days, the treated surface must be lubricated with Panthenol. In addition, you should not subject your skin to procedures that irritate your skin: hot bath, sauna, rubbing, massage, makeup.
  2. You should avoid scrubs and alcohol-containing cosmetics for a week.
  3. Tanning is prohibited for two weeks after the procedure; for the next two weeks, when going out into the sun, we use cream with SPF above 30.

Side effects and contraindications

The only side effects that can be noted are slight redness of the skin after the procedure. It goes away within a few hours.

There can be no more complications if the procedure is performed correctly. Burns occur only if the attachment has exhausted its service life or if the cosmetologist held the manipulator over one area for too long.

Like any medical procedure, this one has its contraindications.

CONTRAINDICATIONS

  1. diabetics;
  2. pregnant and lactating women;
  3. cancer patients;
  4. any inflammation in the body;
  5. skin diseases;
  6. abundant neoplasms on the skin;
  7. varicose veins in the treatment area.

Buy an ELOS device (4 best devices)

Cosmetologists and beauty salon owners are attracted to ELOS technology for its versatility. After all, it is very convenient to buy one device and immediately provide a very wide range of cosmetic procedures.

However, the main thing here is to choose the right device based on several important parameters:

  • price;
  • device size;
  • number of nozzles included.

ELOS devices are produced by Syneron Medical LTD; there are no other official manufacturers in the world. But they have a fairly wide range of models. The most popular are the following models:

  1. E-light.
  2. E-style.
  3. E-max.
  4. Aurora.

The price of the device depends, first of all, on its functionality, and therefore on the number of attachments.

Each of the procedures that ELOS technology allows for requires its own special attachment. Some models have a maximum number of attachments per manipulator, which means that the entire wide range of services is available to this device. Nozzles can be combined with each other. However, to buy such a device, you need to invest a lot of money.

If you are just going to promote your salon, then purchase devices designed for the most popular procedures: hair removal and rejuvenation.

When buying an ELOS device, remember that only a person with a higher medical education has the right to operate it. Otherwise, he will not be able to assess the severity of the problem faced by the patient, calculate the parameters of the device and the number of sessions required.

Prices for ELOS devices start from 200 thousand rubles. The upper limit is much higher and can reach several million.

Expert opinion

Michelle Ellern

practicing cosmetologist-dermatologist

The Elos device emits flashes. Any procedure will require 1-3 flashes per specific area. Most sessions are quick, requiring about half an hour. But in some cases it takes 1-1.5 hours. It all depends on the treatment area.

Aisha Baron

plastic surgeon

Remember to take care of your skin. Initially, it is worth smearing the skin with Panthenol. Do not go to the sauna, do not rub your skin, do not massage it. You should not scrub for about 7 days. In addition, apply sunscreen to the treated area.

It is quite possible to consider the option of purchasing the device on the secondary market. The main thing in this case is to have a good technician so that he can assess the condition of the device. And also buy new attachments to replace the old ones.

If you purchase used devices, you cannot be sure that the standard ones have not yet exhausted their service life. Otherwise, you risk damaging the patient’s skin, which, naturally, will not have the best effect on your reputation.

The Elos rejuvenation technology was developed by Syneron (Israel) almost 30 years ago. Today it is in demand all over the world, including in Russia - even in small cities. For salons, such equipment is more accessible and cheaper than a laser machine, but for patients it is safe. The Elos rejuvenation procedure does not require lengthy preparation, injury to the patient during the session, or an unpleasant and difficult rehabilitation period. Rejuvenation has become easier - technically. Although the price for it, I must admit, still remains very high.

How does Elos rejuvenation work and who is the procedure suitable for?

Elos technology appeared in the 1990s - like many other hardware techniques that salons still use today. At that time, the development of Israeli scientists became revolutionary. The capabilities of the laser at that time were quite well studied, they were already familiar with photorejuvenation, although they were not used as widely as later, in the 2000s. Syneron began working on equipment that would combine two types of energy: light or optical and radio frequency (RF). It was assumed that the effectiveness of the action on the skin would increase significantly. The device is called Electro Optical Synergy or combined energy, abbreviated as Elos. It successfully passed clinical trials and was equally successfully tested on the first patients. Then they began to try combinations of other types of energy and produce new equipment, but the technology retained the name Elos - from the first generation device. Today Syneron produces equipment for salons (the only portable devices they have for home use are lasers). These are multifunctional combines that can perform procedures such as:

  • skin rejuvenation;
  • thermolifting;
  • vascular coagulation;
  • acne treatment;
  • elimination of cellulite;
  • reduction (burning) of fat deposits;
  • epilation.

Such wide functionality has become possible thanks to the growing range of applicators. There were and remain three sources of energy:

  • combination of radio frequency electricity and broadband light;
  • combination of diode laser and broadband light;
  • a combination of infrared radiation and broadband light.

The wavelength is adjusted using applicator attachments. The doctor can work with short pulses, when both types of radiation are applied simultaneously, or with long pulses, when they act in turn. But in any case, only the lower layers of the skin are processed. The top outer layer does not heat up - a built-in cooling system is provided for this, it prevents burns.

Elos devices use two types of energy, light and current.

Indications for Elos

Elos, like any other hardware procedure, is prescribed after a doctor’s examination and diagnosis of the skin condition. For patients under 30–35 years of age, treatment may be recommended to eliminate severe skin defects, such as scars, stretch marks, vascular mesh, age spots, post-acne and other problems. Of course, it’s too early to engage in rejuvenation at this age - the skin itself is capable of regeneration and additionally stimulating it means only doing harm. A set of anti-aging procedures is carried out at 35–50 years of age. It involves not only fighting wrinkles, but also working to improve the quality of the skin - that is, improving blood circulation, restoring active collagen production, removing excess fat cells, and other types of effects. Gradually, step by step, from procedure to procedure, the skin is restored to the state it was in 5-7 years ago. All changes remain invisible for a long time, the patient will not see radical or even instant rejuvenation, because of this, Elos is often spoken of as an ineffective and non-working technology. Nevertheless, the list of indications for its implementation is wide, which means that the effectiveness of the technology in each of these problematic cases has been confirmed by clinical trials:

  • the skin of the face has become dull, the complexion has deteriorated;
  • the tone of the skin has decreased, it has sagged and become flabby;
  • the upper eyelids began to droop;
  • facial creases, folds and wrinkles began to appear;
  • freckles, age spots and keratomas bother you;
  • vessels appear - on the cheeks, under the eyes, on the wings of the nose, spider veins have become noticeable;
  • the corners of the mouth drooped, radial wrinkles appeared from the lips down to the chin;
  • the oval of the face was deformed and “floated”;
  • Striae (stretch marks) on the face and body became noticeable.

Elos is not suitable for tanned or dark skin (Fitzpatrick types IV-VI)

Preparing for Elos rejuvenation

To prepare the skin for the procedure, the patient is recommended to slightly adjust their usual lifestyle:

  • 10–14 days in advance, stop visiting the solarium and limit your exposure to the sun;
  • stop taking photosensitizing drugs;
  • switch to gentle care, abandoning peelings and cleansing masks.

The doctor will provide more detailed recommendations at the preliminary appointment. Before making an appointment, by the way, it is worth remembering what illnesses you have suffered, what you are allergic to - the dermatologist usually asks about these details in order to determine whether you have any contraindications to the procedure.

Procedure

What is Elos:

  1. The procedure begins with cleansing the skin and removing makeup. A cooled conductive gel is applied to the treated areas.
  2. Cotton pads are placed over the eyes and titanium alloy glasses are placed on top to protect the eyes from bright flashes of light.
  3. The device settings are set individually - for each patient (these are radiation intensity, wavelength, pulse frequency).
  4. Anesthesia is not expected; the new devices have a built-in cooling system (the glass itself on the handle will be cold). Judging by the patients' words, the outbreaks are short, there may be discomfort, but pain is usually not felt. How comfortable the procedure will be depends on the depth of exposure (it is adjusted using the applicator on the working nozzle). Each problem has its own nozzle and filter.
  5. The whole procedure takes no more than an hour.

The Elos rejuvenation procedure lasts about an hour, sometimes less

Types of equipment that salons work with - table

Nozzle typePrinciple of operationWhat skin problems does it solve?
S.R.The attachment uses PL (broadband light) + RF (radio frequency current) + contact cooling. Broadband light warms up the lower layers of the dermis, epidermis, and upper layer, protected from heating by a cooling system. Due to the temperature difference, RF energy is concentrated in the middle, in the middle layers of the dermis, and works to improve complexion.Lightening pigmentation, removing keratomas, treating rosacea, improving skin color and texture
SRAThe attachment uses infrared laser radiation + RF (radio frequency current) + contact cooling. Two streams of energy are supplied simultaneously, uniformly heating all layers of the dermis. The temperature is sufficient for the folding of protein fibers and their subsequent regeneration. When the procedure is completed, the heat remains in the tissues for some time - this is called the radiator effect - and stimulates the production of new collagen.Increasing turgor (intracellular pressure), restoring skin elasticity, lifting effect
Matrix IRThe attachment uses fractional laser radiation + RF (radio frequency current) + contact cooling. First, the skin is treated with a laser: the fractional beam, unlike the usual one, is divided into a stream of microbeams, each of which acts on a fraction with a diameter of no more than 1 mm and a depth of up to 4 mm. Then the same area of skin is warmed up with RF energy, but deeper. The outer layer of leather is not processed; it is protected by a cooling system. Microburns remain only internally, accelerating tissue regeneration.Smoothing of skin texture, correction of wrinkles and atrophic scars

Elos rejuvenation is carried out in a course of 4–5 procedures. The break between sessions is 3 weeks.

Elos devices are equipped with three types of attachments - each to solve specific skin problems

For mature skin with pronounced age-related changes, salons provide a comprehensive treatment method, it is called Trinity and is carried out in a course of 3 or more procedures. During each session, different attachments are used to treat rosacea, age spots and wrinkles, the three main problems of mature skin. Thus, after 2–3 weeks, even on a face with signs of aging, it was possible to achieve visible improvements (this is evidenced by photographs of patients).

There is no upper age limit when Elos will no longer produce results - even at 50+, the skin can be quite well-groomed and respond to external influences. But the older the patient, the more short-term the achieved effect will be - because the skin itself is less able to recover than it was 5 and 10 years ago.

After 50 years, it is worth combining Elos with other anti-aging techniques, hardware and injection, up to surgery. That is, first tighten the face, remove wrinkles, and use Elos as a supporting procedure.

Elos pricing is determined by region. For Moscow, for example, the average cost for a complete facial treatment starts at 6,500 rubles.

Elos rejuvenation capabilities: what results can you expect

The face immediately after the procedure is almost never perfect. On the contrary, the vast majority of patients experience hyperemia (redness of the skin due to dilated blood vessels), stronger than usually noticeable vascular network, darkened pigment spots. There is no need to be afraid of this. The redness subsides on the same day, the blood vessels are easily masked with cosmetics. Improvements can be noticed in 3-4 weeks, which is usually how long it takes for the skin to recover. The lifting effect will appear later, at 8–10 weeks. According to the experience of doctors who work with Elos, the average results from this procedure are as follows:

  • the face is tightened by 75%;
  • pigment brightens by 75%;
  • rosacea disappears by 50–75%;
  • wrinkles are smoothed out by 65%;
  • post-acne disappears by 50%;
  • scars are smoothed out by 40–50%.

Elos technology helps improve the condition of the skin by stimulating its natural ability to regenerate, which means that any positive changes will sooner or later fade away.

Elos rejuvenation helps well at the age of 35–40 years; after 50–55 years, more radical facelift methods are usually needed. The lifting effect after Elos is cumulative, it does not appear immediately, but lasts for a long time, up to a year. Elos allows you to remove traces of post-acne and enlarged pores. Elos cleanses face from redness, pigmentation, improves skin tone

Are there complications after Elos?

Health problems after Elos are quite rare. The reason for this is either insufficient qualifications of the specialist, or contraindications to the procedure in the patient. That’s why it’s so important to ask for a license for the equipment when you first visit the salon and check whether the master has documents confirming his qualifications. Typically, equipment manufacturer Syneron provides training opportunities for specialists, and a certificate that confirms that these courses have been completed is a prerequisite for salon licensing. So the risk of “running into” an unqualified specialist is quite low, although it always exists. But the decision to carry out the procedure, despite health problems, is the responsibility of the patient himself. No one insists on a full medical examination before the Elos course, but if such an opportunity exists, it is worth undergoing.

Redness, slight swelling, darkened pigment spots - these are normal reactions after the procedure, they pass quickly

What are the contraindications to Elos?

  • for patients under 18 years of age:
  • with an individual reaction to light;
  • pregnant and lactating women;
  • patients with oncology;
  • patients with heart pathologies;
  • patients with diseases of the immune system;
  • to people. suffering from diabetes mellitus;
  • patients with skin diseases in the area being treated.

Possibility of use at home

Elos rejuvenation is not available at home. The manufacturer produces only salon equipment. There are analogues, devices that use the same several types of energy - laser, photopulses and RF, or only laser radiation. Thus, among buyers of online stores, the iluminage Youth Activator device for facial skin rejuvenation (made in France) is in demand. According to the manufacturer, it helps smooth out wrinkles, improve skin texture and complexion. But this device is not Elos; it has completely different operating rules and different results.

The iluminage Youth Activator device for facial skin rejuvenation combines three types of energy - RF, laser and light pulses, but it does not work using Elos technology

How long will it take to recover from Elos?

Elos rejuvenation causes internal tissue burns, so in the first few hours after the procedure, redness, slight swelling appears, and skin sensitivity increases. After the procedure, it is advisable to go home to rest. Facial care is limited to frequent, once every 3-4 hours, application of Panthenol (in the form of foam or cream, as you are used to). Overnight the swelling will subside, as will the redness, so you can go to work the next day.

After each procedure, you will have to deny yourself visits to the solarium, bathhouse, sauna and gym for 5–7 days, and a visit to the beauty salon for 2–3 weeks. For the skin to recover, it needs intensive nutrition and hydration; any cleansing procedures are contraindicated. It is advisable to supplement your regular cosmetics with a cream with SPF 30+.

ELOS (Elos) rejuvenation is one of the most popular procedures in hardware cosmetology. The enormous interest in this technique has given rise to a lot of myths and rumors, which are not always reliable. Irina Nikolaevna Ivanova, a cosmetologist-dermatologist of the highest category, a leading specialist in hardware techniques at the DoctorPlastic® clinic, helped us understand the situation.

Irina Nikolaevna is not only an experienced cosmetologist who is fluent in the Elos-rejuvenation technique, but also a certified trainer who teaches doctors the theory and practice of working with ELOS.

KOR: Irina Nikolaevna, please explain the essence of the ELOS rejuvenation method?

Irina Ivanova: ELOS – electro-optical synergy, i.e. joint simultaneous exposure to two energies - optical (IPL or laser) and radio frequency bipolar electric current. The meaning of using two energies is simple. Light is absorbed by target tissues and converted into thermal energy. Electrical current is supplied almost simultaneously with light energy and is also converted into heat. Moreover, the effect of electric current will be strongest in places already heated by light, and the effect on target tissues will be stronger than on surrounding tissues. Thus, we get a good selective effect on problem areas.

KOR: At what age is it advisable to start ELOS rejuvenation?

Irina Ivanova: It is allowed to use ELOS rejuvenation from 18 years of age. But you should start when there is evidence for it. And this is not only age-related changes and sagging skin, but also post-acne, pigment, rosacea, which occur at any age. Therefore, it cannot be said that ELOS is intended only for patients of a specific age group. Everything is individual.

KOR: Tell me, what exactly is the effect of rejuvenation?

Irina Ivanova: “Rejuvenation” is more of a commercial name for the procedure. After all, skin “aging” looks different in different people.
The following mechanisms give a real effect:

  • Firstly, uniform heating of tissues stimulates fibroblasts, the active work of which determines the density, turgor and elasticity of our skin. Fibroblasts begin to intensively produce elastin, collagen and hyaluronic acid. The skin becomes dense, smooth, radiant, and therefore more youthful.
  • Secondly, ELOS rejuvenation allows you to successfully fight rosacea. Blood in pathological vessels heats up, coagulates and forms a blood clot, shutting off the vessel from the circulatory system. As a result, vascular formations and stars disappear, and the complexion is evened out.
  • Thirdly, with the help of ELOS it is possible to lighten and, in most cases, completely remove pigment spots.

The summation of all three effects gives a noticeable anti-aging result.

COR: Will pigment spots no longer appear after the procedure? Could it happen that later there will be even more of them?

Irina Ivanova: This is a common misconception. ELOS only removes existing age spots, but it does not in any way affect the further production of melanin. If you have disorders or a predisposition to pigmentation, when exposed to sunlight without sunscreen, a NEW pigment may form.

KOR: The question that worries most women is how painful the procedure is? I've heard diametrically opposed reviews, where is the truth?

Irina Ivanova: The truth, as always, is in the middle. There is no need to expect pleasant sensations. However, everything is quite tolerable, no anesthesia is required. A little hot, a little biting - these are the main sensations during ELOS therapy. It is difficult to predict exactly how you will react to this procedure - don’t be afraid to try, it’s not scary. All parameters are selected individually, and different modes are used for different zones. This is where the doctor’s experience, qualifications and professional flair come into play.

KOR: How safe is the ELOS rejuvenation procedure? Can there be burns, swelling, bruises?

Irina Ivanova: The maximum depth of energy penetration is 6 mm. It is clear that Elos rejuvenation does not affect the entire body, but only works in a limited area. Redness of the skin lasts from 30 minutes to 2-3 hours - this is a normal skin reaction. In addition, after the procedure, slight swelling and even pinpoint burns sometimes occur. They pass without a trace within 2-3 days.

In each case, the doctor warns about the possibility of such consequences of the procedure. ELOS does not require rehabilitation. However, on this day it is better not to make dates or important business meetings, especially if you are doing ELOS rejuvenation for the first time.

KOR: Tell me, is it possible to use Elos-rejuvenation to cope with all problems, in particular with expression wrinkles?

Irina Ivanova: Perhaps the main issue in all aesthetic medicine, cosmetology and plastic surgery is the reality of expectations.
ELOS is not a panacea, if only simply because a PANACEA DOES NOT EXIST! And although ELOS technology is one of the most effective methods of hardware cosmetology, it cannot replace plastic surgery and all other methods and procedures of cosmetology. No, ELOS does not get rid of expression lines (there are other procedures for this). And yet, after ELOS procedures, the depth of the creases decreases. But the effect will not be noticeable immediately.

KOR: When can we expect the effect?

Irina Ivanova: The cycle of new collagen production is 21-28 days, so we will see the final result of the procedure no earlier than after 3 weeks. The effect of ELOS therapy increases GRADUALLY. To obtain a noticeable and long-term result, a course of treatment is carried out.

The standard course for rejuvenation at the DoctorPlastic® clinic includes 5-6 procedures with an interval of 3-6 weeks. Elos rejuvenation fully exhibits its effect when used in combination with other procedures. Our experienced cosmetologists create such a comprehensive rejuvenation program individually, taking into account your problems and characteristics. We will explain in detail why this or that procedure is needed, what result and when to expect from each therapeutic action.
