Manicure in white tones for short nails. Manicure design for short nails: photo step by step. How to do a manicure with gel polish or shellac on very short nails

Fortunately, short nails have become fashionable in recent years. This made life much easier for the fair sex, because with long claws it is difficult to type on a keyboard, fasten clasps on chains, cook, etc. And men do not always consider such “piercing and cutting weapons” sexy. In our selection you will find many ideas for holiday and daily manicure!

1. Neutral and accentuated

Neutral colors look best on short nails, so don't shy away from a color just because you think it's boring. Instead, surprise with an accent nail because sometimes all you need is a little sparkle.

2. Neutral and glamorous

By painting your nails with a neutral polish, you can easily choose incredible designs to match them. See how these floral curves lengthen even the shortest nails!

3. Bright and accented

Even if you have short nails, you can still use a bright polish! Just create a subtle accent with a muted color - neon always goes well with white!

4. Spectacular drawings

Dark colors often emphasize the beautiful shape of nails and hands. All you need is a little skill. Even handmade hearts will work to accentuate this!

5. Polka Dot Tips: French

As you can see, French manicure in all its variations is excellent for short nails. In this picture, the white color emphasizes the shape of the nail, and the original tip lengthens the nail and attracts attention.

6. Colored and accented tips: French

Who said that the tips of a French manicure have to be natural or white? Add color and don't forget about an accent nail that will draw attention away from the length.

You can avoid stripes on clothes, but use them on your nails! See how diagonal stripes add length, especially if your nails are square-shaped with slightly rounded corners.

You will not spoil anything by choosing a neutral base, and you will have a great opportunity to use a completely unpredictable, even “wild” design for an accent nail. Grrr!

You may think that with short nails you don't have the opportunity to experiment with designs, but this is actually not true at all. Don't be afraid to experiment, even if you have a different design on each nail.

10. Ideas for French manicure

We offer another option for French manicure, which is ideal even for very short nails. Paint the tip of your nail, make sure the polish is clear and glossy and, again, don't forget the glitter!

11. Bright and bold

Short nails look just as good with a bright, bold design as long ones. Choose a base color that's a very bright shade and experiment with different designs—there's no hard and fast rule that you can have just one accent nail.

12. Ideas for French manicure-2

When you are looking for ideas for short nails, you will find many options with French manicure. Here, sparkles and smoothly drawn lines draw attention to the length of the nail, but for the best effect it is extremely important to give the lines a beautiful shape.

In fact, you won't ruin anything by using lines, no matter what base polish you choose. Although you should definitely choose something bright to highlight the silver stripes!

14. Sequins and stars

Don't worry, even if you have short nails, you can still give yourself an artsy manicure. Bring it to life with confetti or even sparkles and stars.

15. Ideas with red color

In fact, red polish looks great on short nails, so don't be afraid to use it. However, to show off your short nails and give them a sassy look, use animal prints.

16. Pretty pink

A light, somewhat Chanel-like pink like this one makes a wonderful base. Experiment with accents and designs, especially go for a lunar French manicure!

17. Color madness

Whether you choose purple, pink, coral or green, playing with polishes within the same color scheme will serve you well. Just choose your favorite color and go!

18. Jewelry

If you have a steady hand, add some embellishment to your elegant manicure. A black base works best here.

19. Natural and shiny

It is impossible to describe the beauty of nude polish on short nails. Make sure this manicure doesn't look boring with a glitter accent.

20. All sparkles

The truth is, glitter almost always looks chic on your nails. Just try not to overdo it with big glitters, small ones like these will look much better.

21. Ethnic patterns

Do you really have a steady hand? After all, ethnic patterns look perfect on short nails, and now it’s the squeak of the season.

22. Simple red

As mentioned earlier, red looks great on short nails. If you want something simple, but at the same time sophisticated, then use a seductive red!

Naturalness in everything is the main fashion slogan of 2018. Natural, breathable, lightweight and flowing fabrics have replaced synthetics, and out-of-place, outlandish curl designs have replaced simple, artistically tousled surfer-girl hairstyles. This fashionable wave continued in the field of nail services, completely unsettling predatory stilettos and extended claws. An alternative to them is small short nails that do not create discomfort for an active young lady living in the frantic pace of a big city. There is no doubt that this “size” is convenient for everyday use, in addition, it looks no less impressive and catchy. Your faithful ProstoNail guide will tell you what manicure you can do on small nails and how to decorate it at home. Get ready to get your share of inspiration.

How to make a beautiful manicure on small nails - dedicated to adherents of minimalism

Girls with small nails often ask themselves two sacramental questions: “Who is to blame?” and “What should I do?” ProstoNail experts have clear answers to each of them. So, we don’t recommend looking for the culprits - you’ll just waste a lot of time. It is better to complain about genetics, which determines the characteristics of the appearance of every living organism. The second most popular reason is too zealous cutting of marigolds in early childhood. Often, when parents do a manicure for their beloved child, they injure the hyponychium and thereby doom the child to the eternal torment of extensions. Another very common reason is bad habits, more precisely, the habit of biting nails. The damage algorithm is similar to the previous paragraph. Now we advise you to carefully weigh all the facts and decide what type of deformation is specific to your case?

Small fingernails are not a death sentence, as is commonly believed among many girls. On the contrary, such a miniature manicure looks feminine and sophisticated, graceful and childishly reverent. The main thing is to choose the right way to decorate them in order to visually hide flaws and highlight advantages. Before doing this, it is important to understand what type of nail plate yours is and then, based on the result, adjust the nail design in the right direction.

Type of small nail plates Characteristics
Thickened They are sedentary. Characterized by the fact that the trapezoidal nail plate is literally spread across the entire nail bed
Springboard-shaped Such nail plates have a rounded shape and are characterized by extreme softness, which leads to brittleness
Correct Despite the correct, natural oval shape, such nails are unusually narrow and at the same time soft.
Biteten They are short and unpresentable, with an uneven, often torn, free edge and pronounced lateral ridges. At the same time, the cuticle is particularly rigid, unkempt and rough.

It should be noted that many girls are still trying to fight back against genetics and make painful attempts by any means to increase the length of the free edge of the nail plates. How to make small nails big? The answer is simple - use extensions, fortunately, modern masters do it even in an hour using high-quality, proven materials that guarantee the maximum durability of the artificial manicure. However, it is worth remembering that extended nails do not always look neat and natural, especially on a small, narrow nail bed.

The second method of enlargement involves the use of folk beauty recipes. Often a thin, brittle nail plate is a sign of vitamin deficiency or lack of microelements in the body. Healing baths according to the following recipes will help to compensate for their loss, and at the same time improve the general condition of the nails:

  • Dissolve a handful of sea salt in a glass of warm distilled water and add a drop of your favorite essential oil to soften the solution. After 10 minutes, dip your fingers in the liquid and, upon completion of the procedure, blot them with a towel;
  • Heat half a glass of high-quality unrefined sunflower oil in a water bath and add a small amount of lemon juice. Take a bath for 15 minutes;
  • add a few drops of iodine into the water-salt solution, stir thoroughly until the ingredients are completely dissolved and then dip your fingers in it for 10 minutes;
  • A good housewife will always have cabbage and potatoes in her house, as well as a juicer for extracting the valuable elixir of beauty. By mixing the juice of both vegetables in equal proportions, you get a healing solution that improves the condition of the nail plates, lightens them and accelerates growth.

It should be remembered that such recipes only work for nails of the fourth and second types and they need to be done with enviable regularity. Only in this case will you be able to grow beautiful, long and healthy nails for experimenting with nail art. You also need to remember some features of working with small nails; here are just a few facts recommended for reading:

  • in order to visually ennoble small, sharp nails of the first type, use classic acrylic extensions in compliance with the proportions of the hand;
  • Often the body compensates for the lack of length and thickness of the nail plate by excessive secretion of glands, so before starting coating, such nails should be thoroughly degreased;
  • When performing corrective manicure on small square nails of the first and second types, pay special attention to disinfection issues and strictly adhere to the technology. Masters recommend applying special preparations that regulate the pH level of the nail plates;
  • If you dare to strengthen or grow nails of the second type, then, when applying shellac, carefully work on the free edges, as if “sealing” them. This will prevent chipping and delamination of the decorative coating;
  • make sure that neither the base nor the acrylic paint itself gets on the cuticle and side ridges near the plate;
  • When applying gel polish to small nails, use a synthetic flat brush with a sharp end, and not a standard brush from a bottle;
  • Manipulating small toenails causes particular trouble. If you are not confident in your abilities, then it is better to entrust such a responsible task to a master podiatrist.

As you can see, even the smallest nails can be refined and literally transformed. The main thing is to understand the basic principles of working with them and remember to be careful and careful.

A beautiful manicure for very small nails is quite a feasible task, especially if you are aware of the basic rules of such a specific design:

  • refuse manicure “under the cuticle”, try to make a slight deviation from the side ridges and cuticle by 1-0.5 mm;
  • give preference to dark, rich shades of gel polishes: black, purple, plum, electric or royal blue will always look more impressive than the usual “tender”;
  • Remember that a flat pattern is more suitable for small nails than a voluminous one. The “ ” design will have to be abandoned;
  • always carefully and evenly remove overgrown skin - this will also contribute to the visual lengthening of the nails;
  • don't know how to paint your fingers? Give preference to the more expensive Shellac coating from CND, because it applies in a thin layer without “thickening” already short nails;
  • patterns on small nails should be exquisitely refined and elegant; it is better to make them with a special sharp brush for small details of nail art, and also use acrylic paint instead of gel;
  • it is extremely important to choose the correct shape of the nail plates, focusing on the line of the lunula, but at the same time remembering the proportions;
  • try to “stretch” the entire finger through the sharpness of the free edge, thereby concealing the disharmony.

Congratulations, you are at the finish line. All that remains is to carefully read all the above advice from ProstoNail experts and dare to get a manicure. Which? Find the brightest options below:

  • - always a good and win-win idea. The main thing is to remember that French nails for small nails have a number of nuances. For example, the smile line should be significantly narrower than the standard classics, and besides, drawn not with snow-white, but with milky, muted paint;
  • don't know how to transform your nails? Then it’s worth doing it in a nude color scheme. It easily matches with any type of outfit and does not attract much attention to the hands, but at the same time the fingers look well-groomed;
  • You should not make a drawing directly in the center of the nail. Place it at some distance, for example, below or to the side along the edge of the cuticle. Remember that it should not be pompous; an excellent choice would be one that combines the laconicism of straight lines;
  • do not experiment with different textures, they will only add extra unnecessary volume. You should forget the design with, “” and - a simple glossy finish is what owners of miniature nails need;
  • There is no need to be upset if the bright ones do not want to fit beautifully on your nail plate. They can easily be replaced by mirrored or banal ones, adding a drop of holiday to the gray monotony of everyday life;
  • Speaking of holidays, even on short nails it can look very impressive if you diversify it with openwork, diagonal patterns that visually lengthen the free edge of the plates and make them more graceful;
  • a cute option for romantic young ladies who are tired of the French jacket -. Emphasis on the hole is a good way to disguise a lack of length, the main thing is not to use the negative space technique;
  • gatekeepers of ascetic simplicity will appreciate the manicure, as well as the manicure, which is distinguished by a special appearance that instantly attracts the eye to your well-groomed hands;
  • the last option, guaranteed to win the hearts of all beauty critics, will be, inspiring bold self-expression, improvisation in clothing and the brightest accessories that complement the image.

Miniature, beautiful nails are not a reason to deny yourself the pleasure of a fresh design. And with our advice, this is also a great way to emphasize your trepidation and femininity.

It is difficult to imagine a well-groomed lady without a beautiful manicure. Women love to grow or extend their nails, because manicure looks more impressive and brighter. However, not everyone can afford long nails.

For example, for representatives of many professions - doctors, musicians, masseuses, athletes and even office workers - such pleasure will interfere with work. But manicure and on short nails it can also be interesting and stylish. We'll talk about how to do this later.

Features of this type of manicure

Before doing a manicure on short nails, you need to understand its features and care rules:

Fashionable manicure ideas for short nails

Children's, delicate wedding, simple polish or gel polish (shellac) - let's quickly look at the photo and talk about ideas for designing a beautiful manicure for short nails!

Lunar

This type of manicure got its name by simulating a lunar eclipse on the nail using contrasting zones placed exactly the opposite way compared to the classic French manicure. It should be noted that it is better not to do a lunar manicure on very short nails, because due to its optical properties, it will visually make the length of your nail even shorter.

Despite its simplicity, beige manicure is considered very popular among women due to its versatility: it is suitable for ladies of different ages and professions; with this color it is not a shame to have dinner in a fashionable restaurant, hold a diplomatic meeting or go on a first date. Since beige is a self-sufficient color, it does not require auxiliary decoration elements, but at the same time it can become an excellent basis for creative nail art.

French, or French

French is a timeless classic. With its help, you can emphasize the elegance of your office clothes and holiday attire. French manicure is an ideal option for short nails, as it visually lengthens the nail plate. Initially, for the French manicure, a base transparent color was used and white for the regrown part of the nail. But today, French manicure is subject to great changes: different rhinestones are used as decorations, shades of coatings change, and images are applied. But, one way or another, according to nail stylists, this design will remain in trend for a long time.

Red

Red color is suitable for any shape of short nails. There are many options for manicure in red, from more restrained and strict shades to bright and, to some extent, aggressive. Whatever one may say, only bright, confident women choose red shades.

Children's

Until recently, children's manicure was considered the pampering of a child and the frivolity of his parents. Like, there is no need to accustom a little lady to self-admiration from an early age. However, today there is nothing surprising in such a manicure: many girls walk around with painted nails, even with stickers and rhinestones. However, there are a number of rules that must be followed:

  • to get your baby’s nails in order, you need to use only the unedged manicure method;
  • when processing nails, sharp pressing movements are prohibited, since the tissue of a child’s nail plate is very thin and vulnerable, which is why it can be deformed;
  • You cannot cut down children’s nails at the root, otherwise they will be shortened (you need to leave about 1.5-2 mm of free edge);
  • The varnish should be used with useful substances to strengthen the nails, for example calcium.

With patterns

This manicure is a real flight of fantasy for a woman. The patterns are available in the form of stickers that need to be glued to the nail plate, or they can be drawn directly on the nail. You can decorate each finger or just a few of them with a pattern - it all depends on the woman’s preferences.

With flowers

Flowers on nails add a touch of tenderness to a woman's look. This manicure looks especially impressive in winter, when it’s cold and snowy outside, but gardens are blooming on your hands. Women often complement this manicure with rhinestones, which play the role of the stamen of a flower. You can decorate each nail or several with flowers.

With rhinestones

A manicure design with rhinestones is an elite type of jewelry and can well reflect the refined taste, as well as the elegance of its owner. As for short nails, in this case the rhinestones should be small, since large ones visually make the nail plate even shorter. A plain or transparent nail coating, without unnecessary patterns, is best. Using different combinations of rhinestones on the nail surface, you can achieve different designs.

Drawings of geometric shapes will look interesting on your nails, which can be made the same on each finger or randomly arranged, for example, on the little finger, middle and thumb.

Ombre or gradient manicure

It turns out that you can do it not only on hair, but also on nails. This type of manicure involves a smooth transition between two or three colors on the nail plate. Ombre also includes a gradient transition of shades from finger to finger.

Mirror

Perfect for a celebration, under a cocktail dress, heels, evening makeup and updo. Some extravagant ladies prefer this style in everyday life.

Broken glass

A popular trend in nail art is manicure with broken glass. It is based on the idea of an asymmetrical arrangement of shiny pieces of special foil, the shades of which can be pearlescent, deeply dark or mirror-like.

Combining techniques

“Assorted” manicure, when two or more techniques are combined, is becoming increasingly popular among extravagant young ladies. Girls experiment with designs of their own choosing, such as broken glass and French, ombre and moon.

Delicate wedding

Wedding manicure is not a separate type of nail art. You can choose different ideas: French, moon, ombre, with patterns, with flowers... It is important that everything is done in gentle, restrained, light colors.

Summer

This manicure got its name due to the use of bright summer colors to cover and apply designs to the nail: yellow, light green, crimson, blue. This design is more popular with young girls. And most older women, even in summer, prefer more restrained shades.

Autumn

The autumn version uses autumn colors: yellow, orange, red, brown, burgundy, gray-blue. Tree leaves, bunches of rowan, viburnum, and grapes can be depicted as patterns.

Winter

The emphasis is on white, blue, purple, silver colors. Sequins and rhinestones are also relevant. At this time of year, women like to paint snowflakes and ornaments on their nails, similar to those that frost draws on the window, as patterns.

Spring

Spring manicure is dominated by pastel colors, and the real hit is delicate flowers and young green leaves of trees.

It should be noted that now, instead of regular varnish, often use gel polish, which is more durable, as seen in the photo.

So - let's start charging with ideas and creating beauty.

French manicure

for short nails.

Black French stripes on a manicure look very beautiful. Especially in combination with juicy or pale pink. We are used to white stripes of French manicure on short nails. But black glossy stripes also look impressive.

A complex French manicure with an outline along the edge of the entire nail is a special type of nail art.

MATTE short manicure.

The varnish has a non-reflective matte texture - it looks like cast porcelain on the nails. The nails turn out delicate, with a diffused shine of a pale color. A very sophisticated effect. Short nails are ideal for any matte manicure designs.

Matte varnish can be combined with glossy varnish (as in the photo below) - the base is matte, and the pattern is glossy regular varnish.

GRADIENT manicure

on short nails.

This ombre technique looks very impressive - and can be done at home in 30 minutes. Or rather, the technique itself is done in 10 minutes - and another 20 minutes are spent on cleansing the messy cuticle and the edges of the skin around the nail.

I told you everything about the technique of creating gradient nails in the article

These ombre nails can be created by choosing a polish color that matches your favorite earrings or handbag.

TRIANGULAR tape technique

for manicure of short nails.

A very beautiful and easy manicure for short nails is to work with ordinary stationery tape, from which we cut out ordinary triangles.

In the photo below we see how such a manicure can be combined with clothes. In a special article you will find a selection of ideas where the nail design matches the selected set of clothes.

In the photo below, I showed how such an adhesive tape process for creating a triangular manicure could approximately look like. You can cut out any teeth and figures on the tape and get different designs.

Short manicure

in PIN-UP style.

Frivolous design, bright pure colors like from a box of pencils, stripes, polka dots, sequins, flowers. The pin-up style is at the peak of its popularity. Make your nails in pit-up style, draw pineapples and logos on them, glue studs and combine them with the same style of clothing. Beautiful and clear manicure for short nails. Suitable for everyone young and fast in life.

Volumetric patterns

on a short manicure.

The voluminous patterns on nails that are fashionable this season look very elegant and luxurious. Curls are made from nail materials with a thick texture. Complemented with the same convex rhinestones.

You can sprinkle nail glitter on top of fresh thick curls. This will add additional volume and interesting texture to the manicure. On short nails, as you can see, there is enough space for such a technique.

STRIPS AND HATCHING

on short nail manicure

Looks very nice on short nails torn stripes. The design of the strokes can be anything - the main thing is that it is a strip... and how irregular its shape is does not matter.

METAL STRIP TECHNIQUE

on a short manicure

This technique is visually similar to the previous one - but you can buy it here special metal strips- which are carefully glued to the nails - the excess edges of the strips are carefully cut off with a blade - then everything is covered with transparent varnish.

NARROW TAPE Technique

on short nails.

These smooth or chaotic stripes can be obtained on short nails using the technique of narrow adhesive tape for manicure (they are also called adhesive tapes for a manicure). Everything is simple here too.

You need thin sticky strips - adhesive tapes for manicure - they are sold in specialized stores (craftsmen cut out such strips themselves from stationery tape).

  1. We paint the nails in the base color (the one that will be visible in the slots). We are waiting for the base layer to dry. We glue strips onto it (so that their tails stick out and you can then pick them up by the tip and remove them).
  2. On top of the pasted strips, apply a different color to the entire nail.
  3. We remove the strips - and we see that from under the new color - in the slots from the removed strips - the first color (of the bottom layer) of varnish is visible.

The idea for such a fashionable manicure can be suggested by your favorite set of clothes you have chosen for this season.

Combined technique

gradient manicure + adhesive tapes.

And if you combine the 2 previous techniques (gradient color transition + adhesive strips) into one manicure process, you can get nails with such an original design.

As you probably already guessed, there are three simple steps.

  1. Paint your nails a base color (the one that will show through the cracks).
  2. Glue narrow strips
  3. Cover the entire nail with a smooth gradient manicure (using a sponge).
  4. We remove the strips and we get a nail like this. All that remains is to cover everything with transparent varnish - so that the color becomes rich and bright.

ANOTHER SCOTCH TECHNIQUE

with a short manicure.

Everything is simple here too - you need overlays for French manicure a... which we glue on the tip of the nail (as in a French manicure) - and on the root of the nail plate. We paint the nails one color - glue the strips - cover the nails in a different color - remove the strips and fix everything with colorless varnish. This manicure is called lunar manicure.- because here the emphasis of the design is on the holes of the nails.

MARBLE manicure technique

for short nails.

This technique gives beautiful color shifts on the nails - in the form of uneven striped stains. It is very easy to do these nails at home. A little long - but not difficult.

Here's what you need for such a manicure...

  1. Pour cold water into a bowl.
  2. Open 2-4 jars of varnish. Dip the brush into one jar so that a drop hangs on the brush. Carefully move the brush over a bowl of water and let a drop fall into the water (in the middle of the bowl).
  3. In the water, a drop begins to spread to the sides (like a pancake on a frying pan) - we wait until it spreads.
  4. We take another jar - dip a brush - take a drop and drop it into the center of our spread pancake. And a new drop (of a different color) also begins to spread to the sides.
  5. We repeat this procedure - alternating the colors of varnish several times.
  6. As a result, we get a rainbow pancake - then we use a toothpick to disrupt the even circumference of the rainbow pancake - forcing the stripes of paint to bend their shape.
  7. Carefully immerse one finger in the water of the bowl so that the nail plate carefully meets the pancake-varnish film. The film firmly adheres to the nail plate (and the skin around the nail too) - and a pattern of colorful stains is imprinted on the finger.
  8. Without removing your finger from the water, use a cotton swab to push away the excess film (so that when you remove your finger it does not follow). We take out the finger - let it dry - and use a cotton swab with liquid to remove all traces of the marble pattern from the skin and cuticle.

Here you can mix as many colors as you like... and do as many alternating drops as you like... Each time you will get an unpredictable rainbow pattern for your manicure.

This water manicure can be decorated with neat dots to simulate lace on the nails.

DOTS manicure with dots

on short nails

This is a very convenient manicure - especially if you carefully painted your nails an even color - and then left them too dry and ruined the perfect surface. This often happens - there is no time to redo it and you get angry and angry. But you can disguise the defect - with ordinary dots.

And you will get a new stylish manicure - ideal and neat for short nails.

RHINESTONES, SEQUINTS AND STUDTS

in manicure for short nails.

A beautiful manicure can be done with glitter and rhinestones for nails. There is also a sea for imagination.

  • You can just buy glosses and varnish of the same tone. And then the glitter will merge with the base varnish.
  • You can glue white rhinestones onto black polish and create a spectacular contrast in your manicure.

  • You can place only one rhinestone at the base of the nail.
  • You can put round rivets - I imitate the “polka dot” pattern.

Black and white CLASSICS

on a short manicure.

Any idea that I told you today can be done in black and white. Both in the adhesive tape technique and in the technique of a gradient smooth transition of color on short nails. And just look at ideas from life... like these black and white keys or strict collars on a dress.

You can draw black and white LACE... (by the way, if you look closely, you will see that you do not need to draw out curls with a brush.

The entire lace effect is created with SIMPLE DOTS.:

  1. Paint the nail white (one half) and black (the other half).
  2. Then, at the junction of two colors, we place round black drop dots.
  3. Then, when they dry into the middle of the black round dots, we slap smaller white round dots. And around them there is also a chain of small white dots. And that's it - we got lace.

But for the inscription “Love me” you need to fiddle with the brush - this is already difficult and requires iron endurance.

LACE STAMPS

– for manicure on short nails.

Everything is simple here - I need iron stencil stamps. We apply black varnish to them - we remove excess paint with a plate (so that the paint remains only in the pits of the stencil pattern) - then we apply a rubber seal to the stencil - it grabs the paint of the stencil pattern - and we apply the rubber seal to the nail, and it leaves a pattern on the nail . The technique is called STAMPING - you can find out a lot about it on the Internet (and buy any stencil stamps in stores).

Remember when we were kids we did this with embossed patterned button And rubber eraser. Paint was applied to the button - the top excess paint was removed with a rag - the eraser was pressed against the button - and then the eraser was immediately pressed to the paper. The results were beautiful patterns.

Here is a photo taken from my article - where you can see how such a manicure using the lace stamp technique can fit perfectly into your everyday fashionable look.

REAL lace

on a short manicure.

But this lace manicure technique (photo below) is very interesting - here you need to try to cut out pieces from textile lace - ideal for the size of the nail.

And then with the same glue that we glue tips (false nails) we glue these pieces of lace to the nails.

On top you can cover such lace appliqués with colorless varnish in several layers.

Manicure with MESH

on short nails.

This is how it turns out beautifully and neatly. I just want to wear a hat with a veil or a lace dress with tulle.

I described in detail how to do such a manicure with a mesh at home in the article. There, using the example of red nails from the photo, I immediately gave 2 WAYS to make such a mesh on a manicure.

Manicure with flowers

on short nails.

Summer is the best season for floral manicure on short nails. All the lush inflorescences... all the petal lads... with all their stamens and sepals will find their place on your summer manicure.

My favorite nail motif - these are ROSES. Because they are the easiest to draw (photo below).

You plop a drop of one color, plop a drop of a different color next to it, and stir everything around with a toothpick or other sharp object (I stir with a cuticle cutter tooth).

And that’s it... stirring creates streaks that look like rose petals. All that remains is to apply a brush with green varnish here and there to create leaves.

Wildflowers– you can make a clearing of flowers (as in the photo below on the left) – this can be done very simply using the DOTS dots manicure technique. When we poke the spots of the petals with a dotting stick or a round ballpoint pen, and when they dry, we draw the points of the flower cores. And then we add a couple of green strokes to indicate the leaves.

Or you can use wide strokes to depict half a flower on the nail (as in the right photo below).

Tulips and lilacs- you can come up with clear graphic designs. Or you can create the effect of oil painting - when the colors are blurry and careless, like in the canvases of great artists, like in the photo of lilacs below.

This manicure is suitable for the summer and spring seasons.

And in winter, you can create frosty patterns, cold and snowflakes on short nails.

SPLASHES and PRINTS

on manicure of short nails.

You can make the wrong chaotic coloring on your nails. To do this, there are at least 2 simple ways to manicure short nails.

First method (photo with turquoise-black manicure)- look like this. Apply a turquoise layer of varnish to the nails and wait until it dries completely. Next, tear off a piece of food-grade thin plastic film and crumple it into a lump. We dip it in a drop of black varnish and press it onto the surface of a piece of paper to blot off the excess. And after that we apply it to the nail. Remove any traces of nail polish on the skin and cuticles with a cotton swab dipped in nail polish remover.

The second method (pictured with white and multi-colored nails)- even simpler. We cover the nails with white varnish. Then we make the brush orange - we plop an orange drop on the nail - and smear it on the sides with a toothpick. Then you can poke it with a smeared toothpick - leaving many small fingerprints on the nail. And then we repeat the same procedure with other colors of varnish. At the end we cover the entire surface with colorless varnish.

Manicure using the CRACKLE technique

for short nails.

This manicure is very fashionable now. And the main thing for him is that he doesn’t have to try... or train his hand... or waste a lot of time. Everything is done in a few seconds.

It's simple - buy LAC-PYTHON(it is also called crackle varnish).

  1. First, we cover the nails with one base color - the one that will show through in the cracks - and let this layer dry.
  2. Then we apply python crackle varnish on top - immediately after application (right before your eyes) it begins to scatter into cracks.
  3. And all that remains is to apply a transparent layer of varnish over the crackle cracks - this is mandatory. Because only with the top transparent varnish does the crackle layer begin to shine and become rich in color (the crackle layer itself is dull and matte).

And it’s also important to remember that you CAN’T Apply a crackle layer on an under-dried layer of base varnish. Because on liquid varnish, python varnish - creeping into cracks, pulls the liquid base with it - and it also moves apart, exposing the bare nail underneath.

BLOCKS and PAW TRACES

manicure on short nails.

This manicure “Blot” is also very easy to implement. Place a large drop of varnish on the nail. And along the edges around it we make several smaller round droplets. Next, take a toothpick and draw rays from a large drop to small drops - connecting the scattering of drops into a single radiant blot.

Manicure “Traces”- looks like a combination of a large semicircular heel and four toe spots around it.

LEOPARD Spots

on a short manicure of nails.

This is also simple - this is such a beautiful manicure for short nails.

Such spots are easy to draw.

  1. First, paint your nails one color (this will be the background).
  2. Then, when this layer has dried, we apply uneven spots on it - of different sizes - almost round in shape.
  3. When they are dry, take black varnish and a thinner brush. And with black varnish around the spots - we draw semicircular stripes - as if hugging these spots along the edge. These strips should also be of uneven shape and thickness.

Owners of short nail plates should not despair about choosing a sketch for a manicure and technique. Modern materials and the professionalism of our craftsmen make it possible to create real masterpieces, many of which can be replicated at home.

The direction of fashion trends for this and next seasons is reflected in the shortened version of nail design. A long, pointed manicure is considered rather bad taste. In order for the design to look impressive, the plate should be given an oval shape. This configuration is as close as possible to natural nails. No less suitable would be a square base on which you can run wild with your imagination.

An equally important nuance is the selection of the color of the decorative coating. A dark tone will visually shorten your fingers, so this varnish is recommended for use on long phalanges. Light shades are ideal for camouflaging short fingers. They will visually lengthen them and distract attention from the proportions.

Nail art on short nail plates has a number of advantages, including practicality in wearing and easy care. A neat and natural manicure will be equally appropriate in everyday life and at special occasions.

There are many options for sketches and methods of applying decor, but the implementation of each option requires great perseverance, adherence to certain rules and consideration of nuances. This article contains recommendations and tips for applying drawings to short plates from reputable masters. They will help you get the job done efficiently even at home.

What is needed to create designs on short nails

For manicure you will need the following tools and materials:

Features of choosing a pattern for short nails

When choosing pictures, you should avoid large fragments. Also, you should not use more than 2-3 tones of coating to decorate your nails. Then it will be difficult to spoil the design.

Whatever the theme of the design, it will look more impressive on oval or square plates with rounded edges. Floral motifs fit well into the oval, and the square ideally frames graphic images and plain bright coatings.

If the anatomical parameters of the fingers are short, then vertically applied drawings will help to visually lengthen them. Such images look beautiful and impressive in a contrasting design. There is another technique that lengthens the plate. When painting your nails, you should leave the side edges untouched.

The play of shades is appropriate even on short plates. In addition, it will help correct the shape of the fingers and distract attention from flaws. It would be ideal to perform a manicure with tones that are repeated in clothes.

Stylists recommend using various decorative decorations when designing a manicure: rhinestones, sparkles, acrylic flowers, vertical ribbons. When choosing nail art accessories, you should take into account the ratio of nail sizes and decor.

"Marble" performed using varnishes: turquoise and black.
