If every year before the New Year holidays you decorate your street Christmas tree with handmade toys, then these master classes are for you. You will discover new ideas and learn the secrets of making decorations for the New Year's tree.

Features of toys for large Christmas trees that decorate squares and streets of cities and towns:

Baby penguin, sheep and chicken made from napkins

Admire what large crafts - toys for the city Christmas tree- can be done with the skillful hands of a mother and daughter.

“I, Elena Vladimirovna Pavlova, work as a teacher in a kindergarten. Every year, our children make crafts to decorate the city Christmas tree. They did this work with their daughter Polina, she is 6 years old. I saw the idea for the craft on the Internet, but there was no description of the work there. We came up with everything ourselves during the work process. The result delighted everyone! We present to your attention our " Baby Penguin«.

To make such toys for the city Christmas tree you will need:

  • napkins of different colors,
  • stapler,
  • balloon,
  • thick threads,
  • PVA glue and “Moment”,
  • colored cardboard,
  • satin ribbon.

Progress:

We fold several napkins together (3-4), fasten them with a stapler in the center, cut out a circle, and using the crease method towards the center, crumple each layer of napkins. It turns out to be a flower. (You can also watch a master class on colors made from napkins).

You need to make a lot of such flowers. We used: 6 packs of 100 blue sheet napkins and 3 packs of white.

We first prepared the base for the craft: we inflated an air balloon and wrapped it with woolen threads and PVA glue. Let it dry thoroughly.

We pasted the ball with our flowers, giving the shape of a blue back and a white tummy (we used Moment universal glue).

Then we supplemented the craft with elements made from colored cardboard: eyes, beak, wings, legs. So that our “little penguin” could be hung on the Christmas tree, we attached a ribbon to him, tying it to the tail of the ball, which we left at the top.

Now our little penguin is on the city Christmas tree!

We were so fascinated by the work that we also made a cute sheep and her friend - a chicken - a symbol of care and motherhood.”

Thanks to Elena and Polina for the wonderful toys for the city Christmas tree.

Large toys for the street Christmas tree

Bells

The first version of this toy is made of wire decorated with twine. Decorations include plastic multi-colored balls and bright bows.

And this bell is made from... a figured flower pot! The white plastic base needs to be covered with pieces from. Tinsel is glued along the edge, and a loop is placed on top.

Balloons

Just look at the beauty that came out of simple disposable plastic cups glued to a regular rubber ball. Cups can be used either transparent or made from multi-colored plastic. Tinsel is used as decoration.

"Magic Ball". Yuryeva Violetta.
Made from disposable plastic cups.

Materials for work: disposable plastic cups - 180 pcs., aluminum foil, tinsel glitter, rope, stapler and staples.

Connect plastic cups together in the form of two hemispheres, line the inside with foil and secure with tape. In one hemisphere, stretch a rope between the cups, tie a knot inside the sphere and secure it with tape to the foil so that the knot is on top of the foil. Connect two hemispheres together using a stapler. Finely chop the tinsel. Grease the cups with glue, quickly spreading the prepared tinsel over the entire surface of the ball. Spray the top of the ball with hairspray. The ball is ready.

And this ball is made of papier-mâché. An ordinary balloon, inflated with air, is covered with pieces of newspaper dipped in PVA glue. After drying, the craft becomes durable and strong. It can be decorated with paints, decorated with sparkles or multi-colored snowflakes.

Candy

This is a classic of the genre. It is based on a cylinder twisted from thick cardboard. It needs to be wrapped in shiny wrapping paper and tails made on the sides. The decor around the perimeter is satin or plastic ribbon.

Snowflakes

Two options from different materials. A large white snowflake is cut out of a piece of thin foam using a stationery knife.

The second craft is glued together from newspaper strips. To do this, sheets of newspaper are cut along the long side into 2 or 3 equal parts, each folded several times to form a tight strip. The middle is rolled up from strips of equal width, and the rays are glued to it. The top of the snowflake is painted with golden spray paint and varnished for durability.

Dog

The frame of the animal is cut out of hardboard or thick cardboard. The surface is covered with yellow oil paint; the craft can be decorated with silver tinsel. This is a craft from 2018, for 2019 you can make a symbol in the same way - a pig.

Asterisks

The first option is made from thick twigs fastened with wire in the shape of a five-pointed star. The frame is wrapped in tinsel and decorated with small multi-colored balls.

The basis for this star is cardboard covered with shiny fabric and blue tinsel.

The third star is made entirely of natural material. The frame is made of twigs, as in the first version, only twine was used as decoration. In the center of the craft there is a composition of spruce branches, cones and ribbons.

boot

The toy is made of burlap, filled with padding polyester and decorated with white openwork braid. Additional decor includes sequins, snowflakes, pine cones, and gifts. Eco-style toys are very popular now.

Caterpillar

Her entire body is formed from. The balls are coated with transparent varnish on top so that the craft does not become soggy under wet snow. The decor (eyes, beads, etc.) is made of fabric.

However, you can just make balls from thick cord:

Snowmen

This is another option for using used disposable tableware. The cups are connected with a stapler, resulting in balls of different sizes. All that remains is to glue the cap, carrots, eyes and put on a scarf.

This snowman is made of white and blue fleece, its interior space is filled with padding polyester. In his hands he has a broom made of twigs. This is how a neat little snowman turned out.

All these toys can appear on your New Year's beauty if you work a little before the holidays.

The description of the crafts was prepared by Tatyana Yablonskaya.

The symbols of the Easter holidays are chicken eggs, chicks and cockerels. If you don’t have the opportunity to bring a live rooster into your apartment, then you definitely need to make an Easter symbol with your own hands, for example, from paper, and we will help you with this.

And according to the eastern calendar, the new year 2017 is the year of the rooster. Although this is not our traditional calendar, the tradition of assigning a symbol to the year is very interesting, entertaining, and broadens a child’s horizons. In addition, so many different interesting New Year's crafts can be made in the form of a symbol of the year, hung on the Christmas tree in the form of a toy, or placed under the tree with Santa Claus and the Snow Maiden, or even put these crafts on the New Year's table, especially since the cockerel will look great on it .

Let's make a three-dimensional cockerel from a cardboard cone with our own hands.

Master class cockerel from a cone

To make a rooster we will need: colored cardboard, double-sided colored paper in bright colors, compass, ruler, pencil, scissors, glue, felt-tip pens.

We take a sheet of colored cardboard, select its smaller side, measure the middle and put a dot. At this point we place a compass with the tip and draw a semicircle from corner to corner of the cardboard sheet.

Cut out this semicircle.

We need to roll this semicircle into a cone and glue it together. The top of the cone is the middle of the straight side, exactly the point where the point of the compass stood. From this point to the end of the straight side, lubricate the edge with glue.

We roll up the cone, bending the straight side in half, placing the adhesive half of the straight side on its other half, and gluing it together. The cone for the rooster's body is ready.

Cut out the beak. Fold a small strip of colored paper in half, cut off 2 corners to form a triangle, open it - the beak is ready.

The glued side of the cone is the back of the cockerel. We glue the beak to the side opposite to it. Apply glue to only 1 half of the beak and glue it.

Let's make a scallop. Cut out a strip of paper 1 cm wide. Glue one end to the top of the rooster's head.

When the first loop is glued, we make 2 more such loops and glue the entire comb, cutting off the excess.

From the remnants of the strip we cut out 3 drops, one larger and 2 smaller, glue them with sharp ends under the beak, this will be the cockerel’s beard.

To make the rooster feathers, cut at least 5 strips of different colors from colored paper. Strip width 1 cm.

For the wing, fold 1 strip into 3 loops, one larger, the second slightly smaller and the third even smaller. We glue the base of the loops so that the wing does not fall apart. You can cut the strip into short lengths and make a loop from each. Then the wing will need 3 separate loops, but they can be made in different colors.

We make 2 such wings. Glue the wings onto the cone.

For the tail, make a loop from one strip of paper and leave a long tail.

We bend this long tail with scissors. Glue a loop with a tail onto the back of the cone.

We make a couple more of these loops with tails, bend them, and glue the entire tail.

Draw the rooster's eyes with a felt-tip pen.

The cockerel is ready, you can use it in the design of the New Year's interior.

The craft can be simplified if you plan to make the cockerel not with a primary school student, but with children in a kindergarten or preparatory group. Just like in the master class, we make a cone, a beak, and cut 6-8 strips of different colors from colored paper. Next, cut each strip into 3 parts. We bend the ends of these segments with scissors. We glue the strips to the cone with straight ends: red ones - in place of the crest, other colors - for the wings and tail. Loop made of red paper - a cockerel's beard. We draw the eyes with a felt-tip pen.

Such a fun chicken coop :)

Video on how to make a cockerel

New Year 2017 will be the year of the Red Fire Rooster. And according to tradition, a cockerel should appear on every holiday tree. For those who don’t yet have a cockerel, I suggest making a Christmas tree toy out of cotton wool.

We will make these wonderful cockerels that resemble candy canes. Petushkov in boots and bright shirts!

Many people had similar cotton toys in childhood - warm and gentle. In this master class I will tell you how to make such cotton figures. The technique is very interesting, and don’t doubt the result! Let's begin!

We will need:

Cardboard (thick but cutable, I got it from Lego boxes);

Cotton wool (from a pharmacy, regular in a roll);

Cotton pads;

The threads are white;

Potato starch;

Half-bead eyes are black (you can do without them);

Tailor's pin (with a loop at the end);

Paints for painting (acrylic, gouache, watercolor...).

To begin with, we take cardboard (I use cardboard from a Lego box - it’s thick, but you can cut it) and draw a generalized outline of the cockerel. Without beard, comb or protruding feathers. My cockerel is 12 cm long. Cut it out.

Now we take the cotton wool and tear off a thin and even strip from the roll. We don’t cut it from a roll of cotton wool, but tear it off with our hands so that the edge is thin and torn.

We wrap this piece of cotton wool around the breast of the cockerel. We wrap it tightly.

Now we take a white thread (white so that it is not noticeable on the cotton wool) and fix the wound piece with thread. Carefully wind the thread. We do not cut the thread from the spool; we will need a lot more thread.

We wrapped the first piece of cotton wool, take another one and wrap it around the tail of the cockerel.

We also fix the tail with thread.

The third piece of cotton wool will go on the leg. We wrap cotton wool. And fix it with thread.

We wrap the head last. Everything is the same - we wind it and fix it.

Now our cockerel is completely flat.

We form his chest. Take a larger lump of cotton wool.

Apply to the rooster and distribute evenly over the breast.

We wrap a ball of cotton wool with thread.

One side is ready, repeat the breast extension on the other side.

We go down to the leg with a thread, tie the thread with a knot so that it does not unwind, and make a loop at the end of the thread. Using this loop we will hang our cockerel to dry (upside down). That's it, we don't need the thread anymore, cut it off.

Now let's prepare additional parts from cotton pads. We make the wings and tail parts: cut the cotton pad in half. For the wing of the semicircle, we round one corner, and for the tail we leave it that way. We cut the part into 4-5 feathers. We will need 4 parts for the tail and 4 for the wings.

Now we make the comb and beard. Place a cotton pad on the cockerel and cut out the details by eye. One comb and two goatee details.

We have all the necessary “spare parts” for a cockerel: body, tail, wings, beard, comb.

It's time to spread the paste. Our paste is essentially not a very thick jelly. Take a glass of water onto a spoon (without a slide) of potato starch. The paste is brewed like this: starch diluted in a small amount of water is poured into very hot water (1 glass) with constant stirring. Quickly stir for 15 seconds, and the paste is ready! Please note that it should not turn out thick, otherwise it will be impossible to work. If the paste is still thick, add hot water and mix again.

While the paste cools (5-10 minutes) we will prepare the cotton wool for further work. It is necessary to tear several pieces of cotton wool, even and thin. We will wrap our cockerel with them again. You will need 4 pieces - for the breast, tail, leg and head. But you can prepare a couple more pieces in reserve just in case. Then, when our hands are covered in paste, it will be impossible to tear off a neat piece of cotton wool. That’s why I pick up a lot of different ones in advance - big and small, most importantly thin ones. It’s more convenient to work this way.

We take our cockerel and begin to lubricate it with paste. Dip your finger into the paste and apply it to the cockerel. You can also do this with a brush, but I like the feeling of warm paste on my hands, and besides, it’s more convenient to monitor the uniform application of the paste. The cockerel should be moist, but without any clumps of paste on the body.

The cockerel is ready. Now we take a piece of cotton wool and wrap our wet cockerel with dry cotton wool. A dry strip of cotton wool sticks perfectly to the body of the cockerel. You need to try to wrap the cotton more tightly. When the piece is wound, it needs to be coated with paste. This top layer of cotton wool with paste evens out the relief of the figure and hides the thread.

In the same way, we wrap a piece of cotton wool on the tail and also smooth it with paste.

The next piece is on the leg.

And lastly, a piece for the head.

Now take the parts of the comb and beard; they need to be soaked in paste.

We attach the beard. We take the first piece and peel it off a little from one edge. The cotton pad exfoliates perfectly. With this “opened” place we attach the beard to the cockerel. Same for the second detail.

We do the same with the comb: we open it a little along the line of attachment to the head and put it on like a hat.

There are not enough eyes on the head. I like to use glue half beads. But if there are no suitable eyes, you can simply draw them.

Let's take care of the feathers. All parts of the tail and wings need to be impregnated with paste. You can lay them out right on the table and apply the paste. There shouldn’t be a lot of paste, otherwise the feathers will spread and turn into mush.

We start with the tail - two parts on one side. They come with an offset.

Now there are 2 wing parts, also offset.

Repeat on the other side. If the feathers look too flat, loosen them with a toothpick and lift 1-2 feathers. Voila - the cockerel is ready!

You can leave it like that, but I like cockerels in shirts. For a shirt, take a longer strip of cotton wool. It needs to be coated with paste on both sides. Coat it so that there are no air bubbles left in the cotton wool. The photo shows that the piece has become completely transparent.

The edges of the piece need to be bent so that they become smooth and neat. Pick it up with something thin and bend it over. You'll get a nice little stripe.

We apply the middle of the strip to the breast of the cockerel. We form folds on the wings - we get sleeves. We attach the ends of the strip to the back.

That's it, let's send the cockerel to dry. Upside down. We hang it in some warm and dry place, ideally above the radiator. Our cockerel will dry out in 6 hours on the battery or a day or two without it.

A dried cockerel is velvety to the touch, with a dense cotton wool crust. It can turn out soft, or maybe quite hard - it depends on the amount of paste and the quality of smoothing of the cotton wool. Falls are not scary for a cockerel, but still a careful attitude will not hurt :)

All that remains is to insert the pin; it is better to fix the pin with a drop of glue. And thread a fancy rope.

Now our cockerel is ready, all that remains is to paint it brighter, more elegantly, maybe sprinkle it with sparkles in honor of the holiday and hang it on the Christmas tree. You can use any water-soluble paint, acrylic, gouache... But the most delicate paint is obtained with watercolors.

The most beautiful Christmas tree decorations are those made by yourself. Such creativity will help you bring any fantasy to life and make your New Year's decor as original, unusual and very attractive as possible.

In modern stores on New Year's Eve, a person can find a huge assortment of Christmas tree toys made from various materials: glass, plastic, wood, textiles, paper. But just more than half a century ago, it was quite difficult to find a beautiful decoration for the Christmas tree, and people I had to make them myself.

It is worth noting that manual work is very often was distinguished by her skill and was equated to works of art. Many needlewomen still prefer to bring something original to the decor of the room and the Christmas tree, made from the heart and with your own hands.

By following modern master classes, you can learn how to create toys of incredible beauty.

Eg, cotton wool decorations - budget handicrafts. For work you will need:

  • Roll of pharmaceutical cotton wool
  • Paste
  • Newspaper
  • Wire
  • Paints (acrylic)
  • Salty dough

Vatu is necessary pre-paint in different colors. This is done using textile paints, which can be purchased at a household chemical store. The painting process is very simple: put dye in a saucepan with water, add cotton wool, and bring to a boil. The cotton wool is infused for several minutes, after which it is wrung out and dried.

Cooking the paste is also very simple. It is easier to work with than regular PVA glue, as it is more transparent and its texture is more watery. To cook the paste, you need boil a glass of water and dissolve two full tablespoons of starch in it with a slide. The cooled solution will become very sticky.

Salt dough will be necessary in order to create realistic faces and muzzles for toys, since they imitate figures of people and animals. It's easy to knead this dough: mix two parts flour with one part salt and add water by eye so that the texture somewhat reminds you of plasticine.

The dough is formed into the required figurine with notches and baked in the oven for half an hour at a temperature 110-120 degrees. After this, the dough must be painted with acrylic paints, all the details must be drawn: eyes, lips, cheeks and covered with colorless nail polish.

From wire it is necessary make the base. All other elements will be attached to this base. The base should follow the preferred figure, for example, a person. For volume the base is wrapped in layers of newspaper soaked in paste. The ends of the wire (handles and legs) should be wrapped first with cotton wool, wetting it with paste. After that the newspaper also covered with a cotton layer.

The top of the wire should attach a face molded from salt dough (make a hole in it in advance). All details should be done very carefully, hands should be washed often, as the paint will remain on them and spoil the light shades. You can form braids, hats and other little things using thin wooden sticks, which should always help you in your work.

The chain can be made to any length.

After that Each ball is folded in half and then in half again. After this, four folded cut out circles should be glued to one small one, which serves as the base. The remaining four are also glued to the same base. Wait for the glue to dry completely and start unfold the edges of the glued halves.

Helps to secure the edges together stapler, this can also be done superglue or using hot gun. You can leave the resulting ball the way it turned out, or you can paint with acrylic paints to taste or draw patterns.
