Crochet baby socks patterns. Step-by-step crochet socks. Crochet socks pattern

How to crochet socks is exactly the question that we have to deal with today and achieve a positive result. Since quite recently we looked at the theoretical aspects of knitting socks - an approximate pattern (for those who missed this information, I suggest you look at the article), it’s time to move from theory to practice.

Since I didn’t really like the socks I knitted for that theoretical article (and there are explanations for this) - today I’ll try to crochet socks, doing everything from start to finish according to the rules (well, or almost everything)))

I hope this approach will be useful for you, at least as an example))). I will knit socks for an eight-year-old boy - for my little son.

To crochet socks, I use the following materials:

  1. Yarn “Diamond” in two colors, left over from knitting and. I still have quite a bit of this thread left, I think even crocheted socks for a child will take less than 100 grams. The yarn is thin and I am going to knit it in one thread.
  2. Hook No. 3. Since the recommendations indicate that the hook should be twice as thick as the thread. Initially, I tried to knit with a double stitch, but somehow I didn’t like it...so I took a larger hook.
  3. A piece of paper with a pen or pencil to write down the calculation

So let's get started

How to crochet socks

  1. Preparatory stage (calculating knitting density and taking measurements)

First of all, we knit a sample with double crochets from the selected yarn, approximately 20 loops per 8 (10) rows, maybe less, maybe more... depending on the thickness of the yarn. In general, it is believed that the sample for calculation should be quite large for this calculation to be the most accurate. I wrote about this in the article))) in the same article you will find recommendations for processing the sample before calculation and do not be alarmed that they are talking about knitting - the principle is the same))) We count and write down the results...

With my knitting density it turns out 1 cm = 2.2 loops, 1.14 rows

  • Leg circumference at the narrowest point above the ankle (measurement 1)
  • Leg circumference through instep and heel (measurement 2)
  • Length of the foot to the beginning of the big toe (measurement 3)
  • Well, and at the same time the total length of the foot (measurement 4)

Measurement 1 = 18 cm.

Measurement 2 = 21 cm.

We get an average sock size of 18+21=39/2=19.5 cm.

In theory, for freedom of fit, you can add 1 cm, but I will add 0.5 cm, because... The sock is still on a child’s foot and it seems to me that 1 cm is too much))) It turns out to be 20 cm.

  1. Stage two - directly crocheting the sock

Friends, I will write my numbers and how I got them. Please note that this data may not be suitable for you (and most likely it will not be suitable))). Therefore, do not be lazy to calculate your knitting density for the yarn you have chosen, take measurements from your “client” (since children even of the same age are very different))), and by analogy, calculate your numbers in order to crochet socks according to your sizes.

We knit from top to bottom. First, let's work on the elastic band, for knitting it we use the same double crochets, only we will knit them behind the back wall of the loop (those who do not understand at all what I just wrote, I advise you to read the article « " or " » , we act by analogy)

We assemble a chain, the number of air loops of which is equal to the length of the elastic band of the future sock. Let it be 5 cm. We multiply the number of loops obtained when calculating the knitting density of 2.2 by 5 cm, we get the number of loops of the initial chain.

2,2*5 =11

This means that for the elastic band we cast on 11 loops + 3 VP for lifting (which always replace the first column of the row)

1st row - make a double crochet in the 4th loop from the hook. Next, we knit the entire row with double crochets - 11 stitches in total

2nd row - 3VP for lifting, Dc behind the back wall of the loop

In order to find out the number of rows that should be knitted, you need to multiply the number of rows obtained when calculating the knitting density, i.e.
20*1.14 = 22.8 (round up and knit 23 rows)
Then fold the elastic in half (short sides) and sew using connecting stitches or single crochets.

Now in a circle you need to knit a number of stitches again equal to the average size of the sock (20 cm)

2,2*20=44

We multiply the number of loops obtained when calculating the knitting density by the average sock size

Here I want to note that the double crochet is equal in height to two loops. Focus on this to knit a Dc from a “lying” column. That’s why I ended up with 46 columns, and I left it that way – I didn’t subtract anything...
At the same time, in each row we change the color of the yarn

Having knitted the required number of rows, we proceed to dividing the sock into “heel and non-heel”

We collect air loops on half of the sock (23) and attach the braid to the middle of the row. Let me remind you that with these actions we determine the place for the heel...

...and continue knitting in the round only one part. In my mind, I should first tie the heel, and only then everything else... but for me, as always, “the smart thought comes later”
Therefore, I knit the sole and toe first, and leave the heel for last. And here my knitting according to the rules ends...

The total length of the leg includes three segments: the heel, the distance from the heel to the toe and the toe. I took 5 cm to the heel and toe. Then I subtracted 10 cm from the total length of the foot and multiplied the resulting figure by the number of rows of 1 cm. It turned out to be 12 rows of dc. To be honest, I kept trying the sock on my son...

We outline the angles relative to the corners of the future toe and immediately begin to decrease, decreasing the loops in each row, bringing the number of loops to 1/3 of the large hole 46/3 = (approximately) 15 loops (there should be an even number of loops) for convenience when sewing, which means 16 p.

For the heel: along the edge of the hole for the heel (there will be more loops here than in the toe...) knit 1.5 circles of stitches and, without tying 1 sc to the corner, knit 3 stitches together in the corner (i.e. on the hook 4 loops are knitted behind one step).

Knit another half circle and make the second corner in the same way.

In each circle in the corners of the heel, knit 3 sc together until the hole is approximately equal to 1/3 of the large hole 46/3 = (approximately) 15 loops (there should be an even number of loops) for ease of stitching, means 16 sts

Then sew the edges of the hole
We knit the second sock in the same way.

So we looked at the question of how to crochet socks :)

Knitted socks
Conclusion: crocheting socks, in general, is not more difficult, than "driving a taxi""How to knit socks with knitting needles.

I think that crocheting socks of this type is quite possible for beginners)))

The main point is to choose the right yarn and hook for it, otherwise instead of a sock you may end up with a felt boot)))

During cold winds, nothing will protect your baby’s feet like crocheted baby socks. By varying the composition of the yarn, you can also knit both light socks for spring or summer, and really warm ones for winter. Unusual knitted jacquard socks for children

We will need:

  • yarn (50% wool, 50% acrylic) of medium thickness: white – 50 grams, lilac – 100 grams;
  • cr. No. 3.5.

Diagrams and symbols

Children's socks: description

We crochet a chain of 8 sts. p., then 1 row from p/s, close into a ring using ss. in the first p/s..

We knit the sock using p/s, inserting increases on the sides to the desired width of the foot according to diagram 1.

To knit a pattern, insert a lilac thread and alternate 2 stitches with a white thread over the dark loops and 2 stitches with a lilac thread over the white ones.

After 17-18 cm from the start of work, we continue only with a lilac thread; we need to knit another 5-6 rows, inserting 1 p/s increments on the sides in each row.

Next, we begin crocheting the heel using s. without n. straight and reverse rows according to diagram 2 on the middle part of the sole, where we go with the help of ss.. While knitting the heel, at the same time we attach it to the toe to the middle.

Now we start knitting the boot using p/s in circular rows.

After 5-6 rows, we start with the cuff with a voluminous pattern according to diagram 3, starting with 2 rows c. without n.. Jacquard socks for children are ready!

Bright knitted socks with a bow for children

We will need:

  • yarn (50% wool, 50% acrylic) of medium thickness: scarlet, pink and white - about 50 grams;
  • cr. No. 3.5.

Children's socks: description

Crochet 3 in. etc., we close them in a ring. Next we continue to work with. without n.: in the first row – 9 s. without n., in the second – 18 s. without n. (2 s. without n. in 1 s. without n. of the previous row).

Now you need to knit even increases on the sides: 2 s each. without n. – one on the left and one on the right, until we reach the width we need (in our case, it’s 30).

Now we knit the lower part in a circle, alternating the colors of the threads to the desired length to the heel.

We knit the heel: straight fabric from 15 s. without n. for 8 rows. We need to fold the resulting square in half and sew along the bend line in one row with. without n., thereby sewing the side parts of the heel from the back.

We knit the upper part of the sock again in a circle using s. without n. to the height we need.

We knit a rectangle with scarlet thread using 20 s. without n. 8 rows, tie it in a circle with white yarn and tighten it in the middle with thread, sew one such bow on the outside of the sock. Children's shoes are ready!

Knitted socks-slippers for children

We will need:

  • yarn (100% acrylic) of medium thickness: blue and white - about 50 grams;
  • cr. No. 3.

We start knitting from the toe, work according to the diagram below:

Progress

We collect a chain of 6 v. p., close it into a ring using ss..
1 p.: 3 v. pp. (corresponding to the first s. s.), 11 p. s n. in a ring.

We connect the circular row ss., introducing cr. in the upper c. P..
2 p.: again we knit 3 in. p.p., increase (1 s.n. in the same base loop).

Then we knit 2 s each. s n. in each subsequent loop.

We should get 12 s. s n. (3 v. p. count as 1 s. with n), ss..

3 r.: again 3 v. p.p., *2 s. with n., in the next loop 1 s. s n.*, from * to * x 10, in the last stitch of the previous circular row we knit 2 s. s n., ss. = 36 s. with n..

4 rub. and we knit all subsequent rows without additions: 3 in. p.p. and 1 s. s n. in every loop.

As usual, we close the row with ss..
For the foot of a three-year-old child, 14 rows are enough.

Now we knit straight and reverse rows, creating a sole.

RUR 15: knit 3 sts. p.p., 21 p. from N., 3rd century. p.p..

Turn the work over and crochet in the opposite direction according to the diagram: in each loop, p. s n. 7 rows.

Turn the slippers inside out and fold them in half.

Now we connect the two halves using c. without n. and forming a seam at the heel.

We cut the thread and turn the product right side out again.

We tie the top with a thread of the same color. without n..

Again row c. without n., but with a contrasting thread.

By analogy, we knit the second slipper.

After this, you can decorate the socks, for example, with embroidered snowflakes. Socks for children are ready!

12 p.: p. without n. in every s. R..

13 p.: *2 p. without n., 2 tbsp. in next *, from * to *.

At a height of 8 cm, change the thread to beige.

At a height of 13 cm, change the thread to red, 3 p..

Having reached a height of 20 cm, we round the heel: knit 2 s each. vm. at the beginning and end of the r., repeat 3 r.. Then we knit again in the circle, 5 r..

Now decreases: in the middle of the front and heel we knit 2 s. vm..

We continue according to this pattern for 10 rows, then knit only on half of the stitches (from the middle of the front to the middle of the heel), while making decreases at the beginning and end of the row, until 1 stitch remains, cut the thread.

The second sock needs to be knitted similarly to the first.

We make pompoms with scarlet yarn for the nose, with white yarn for the cap’s brush, and embroider the eyes.

Striped warm knitted socks with floral appliqué for a child or teenager

We pick up white yarn, stepping into each loop, and in each of the two corners at the junction of the heel and the boot we make one decrease = 2 sts. and so on for 3 days.

Blue thread: 1 rub. with decreases and 2 more rubles. without.

Then another 3 rubles. white and 2 r. blue, in the third r. make one addition in the center.

3 more white rubles. and 1 blue with one addition in the center.

Next 2 p. blue (according to the diagram without additions), and 3 p. white + 1 blue, in each of them we make one decrease on the left or right outer side (depending on whether we are knitting the right sock or the left).

We make decreases at the same level as in the corners.

In 2-3 blue rivers. We make 2 decreases (1 each from the outer and inner sides).

1 more blue r. without any decreases and sew the toe together.

The children's socks are ready, but you can still decorate them.

When winter approaches, it's time to check your wardrobe of warm clothes and, if necessary, replenish it. For example, knit warm socks with your own hands. Learning to knit socks is a little more difficult than knitting a simple scarf, and this can become a kind of baptism of fire for a beginning knitter.

p.s In the last article we looked at how to knit socks

For beginners, working with several knitting needles at once may seem difficult, so we will tell you how to crochet socks.

You will realize that this is not such a difficult matter:

  • crochet a sock starts from the toe;
  • gradually adding loops, the foot is knitted;
  • a triangular heel is knitted;
  • the bootleg and elastic band are formed.

Our article is designed for beginners - it is explained step by step and shown on video how to crochet socks. We will tell you what yarn to use to knit children's socks, and what crochet hook is best to use. The most difficult thing in this work is to knit the heel of the sock, when you master this, you will be able to knit socks quickly and correctly.

Once you master the intricacies of knitting, you can dress your whole family in socks. We will tell you how to knit children's and men's socks from yarn of different colors with interesting patterns. Even for the summer, you can knit openwork socks from thin yarn. So, let's begin our master class.

How to crochet socks. They can be of different sizes and different colors. With this knitting method, work begins with an elastic band, which is crocheted with a size of 2.1 mm. Then we move to a larger hook, 2.5 mm in size. This will make the elastic band tighter.

Crochet Basics

Knitting patterns for toe and heel

Crocheting socks from toe:

  1. 1. Toe

Every sock starts out the same. For the toe, knit 8 half stitches into the initial loop, finish the circular row with 1 connection. Art. in the upper air. p. lifting and according to scheme 1, knit the corresponding number of circular rows indicated for a given size. In the 2nd circular row, the number of loops is doubled to 16 sts, from the 3rd circular row, 4 sts are added in each circular row. From the 2nd circular row, knit with front and back circular rows, i.e. after connecting. Art. turn the work. This is necessary so that the beginning of the circular row does not shift and is always in the middle of the future sole. If necessary, mark the right and left middle loops with a contrasting thread.

  1. 2. Foot, heel and instep wedge

Then knit the foot without increments. Knit the number of circular rows or centimeters indicated in the table or instructions. If necessary, move the contrast thread. Next, for the heel and wedge of the instep, in each round row, knit 2 half stitches into the loop before and after the right middle loop and into the loop before and after the left middle loop. Repeat these additions as many times as indicated. V table or instructions.

  1. 3. Heel wall

Knit the heel wall according to pattern 2. If the last circular row with additions was a front circular row, then after the middle loop of the sole, knit back, as indicated, conn. Art. to the edge of the wall loops and perform 1 stitch on the side edge of the heel, then turn the work and knit according to the pattern. If the last circular row with additions was a purl circular row, then first go, as indicated, to the connection. Art. to the edge of the wall loops and perform 1 stitch on the side edge of the heel, then turn the work and knit according to the pattern. At the beginning and end of the 1st day. and then at the end of each row of the heel wall, knit 2 tbsp. b/n together, attaching the heel wall to the canvas. To do this, insert the hook into the last loop of the heel wall, pick up the thread and pull out the loop, then insert the hook into the loop of the side edge of the heel, pick up the thread and pull out the loop, then pick up the thread and pull it through all the loops on the hook. Then turn the work and immediately tie 1 tbsp into the last loop. b/n, as indicated. After this, knit according to pattern 2, which shows a wall of 15 stitches, which is necessary for sizes 36/37, 38/39 and 40/41. For smaller sizes, perform fewer of the indicated loops on both sides of the middle loop of the sole and for larger sizes, respectively; the number of rows varies as indicated in

Much easier than knitting. Many lovers of traditional style can argue with this. However, craftswomen who do not want to conduct five constantly falling out knitting needles have long invented a new method for themselves and their colleagues. Diagram and description is a popular topic; many authors of master classes cover it. The level of such work cannot be considered difficult. The main thing is to maintain uniform density so that the finished products are the same size.

Yarn selection

The natural choice for socks would be warm yarn, the fibers of which consist of at least 30% natural materials. Of course, the more wool or mohair, the better. It is strictly not recommended to purchase 100% acrylic for socks. You should not believe the words of sellers or your own eyes: artificial fibers will not heat. And if you knit openwork light knee socks from acrylic, you will feel hot in them. It is better to use cotton or linen.

The thickness of the thread for knitting such items as warm ones and the density of the pattern are of decisive importance) can be in the range of 250-350 m/100 g. If you intend to obtain a thinner or openwork fabric, you need to use yarn with a yardage above 400 m/100 g. Working tool should be matched to the yarn.

Start knitting

You can start working both from the cuff and from the toe. In any case, you will get beautiful and warm crochet socks. For beginners, the diagram presented below will be clear.

In accordance with it, the first row of the product forms its toe. In this example, the initial chain of air loops (VP) consists of 14 VP, plus 3 VP for the rise. The number of loops in the initial and remaining rows of manufactured products may differ significantly from that shown in the figure. This indicator is influenced by the thickness of the thread and the pattern used. The exact number of stitches can be calculated by making a test swatch using the selected yarn.

The diagram and description of crocheted socks illustrate a universal way to get started. The first row is formed by knitting double crochets in a circle on both sides of the initial chain of chain stitches.

Knitting the bottom of the product

To achieve the desired size of the fabric, it is necessary to add loops along the edges of the chain. Increasing each row by two loops (one on each side), you should focus on the volume of the leg of the person for whom the socks are knitted. When the desired width is reached, the additions are stopped.

Then the fabric is knitted evenly. The use of single crochets (SC) will allow you to make really warm and thick crochet socks. The diagram shows the distribution of an openwork pattern, but it can also be replaced with continuous dense knitting.

Heel formation

This is the most important part of the product. Here you need to be careful and constantly count the loops and stitches. This is necessary so that the socks turn out identical.

According to the diagram, the heel is formed by a flat rectangular section of fabric. Its width is approximately a third of the entire width of the sock. In order to make it, you need to stop building up the entire fabric for a while and knit only the loops of the rectangle in return rows.

To get correct and anatomically accurate crochet socks (the diagram perfectly illustrates the process), you need to finish shaping the heel. To do this, only part of the columns is knitted in the center of the rectangle. At the beginning and end of each row, they are simultaneously attached to the free edge of the rectangle. At the same time, the number of columns gradually increases. The heel will be completed when all the rectangle stitches have been worked.

Crochet socks for beginners: cuff pattern

The most difficult stage has been passed, now you can continue even knitting of the fabric without additions. The first row is cast along the entire perimeter of the sock (it now has the shape of a right angle). Next we begin making the cuff.

This section of the sock is very convenient for placing an ornament, pattern or other decorative elements. crochet (the pattern may be different), it is better to continue knitting in a continuous pattern, as in the photo.

The top of the finished sock should be tied. It can be decorative or purely functional (to prevent the edge from stretching).

Knitting openwork patterns

Crocheted socks have become the object of creative experiments by many knitters. They are made using a variety of techniques, types of yarn and decoration.

The most impressive are high knee socks, reaching almost to the knee, knitted with a thin thread and an openwork pattern. They look very feminine and are great for gifts.

The production of openwork knee socks follows the same algorithm as described above. The pattern can only be placed on the cuff or on the front side of the knee socks.

Since the cuff in the models under consideration is very long, it is necessary to ensure its correct expansion. The optimal method is to compare the knitted fabric with the pattern.

It is also necessary to take into account that an elastic band or lace must be threaded along the upper edge of the knee socks. Otherwise, they will constantly slide off.
