How to make a hanging paper snowman. How to make a snowman out of paper. New Year's florarium made from plastic bottles

Creating a festive atmosphere is not easy, especially if the long-awaited New Year holiday is ahead. Buying a lot of decorations today is not difficult, but it’s more pleasant to create all the necessary elements of a festive mood yourself. One of these is the snowman.

The simplest thing you can make it from is paper. Let's look at the most common methods for creating it.

Paper snowman shapes

The easiest way to make a snowman is from plain white or corrugated paper. The technology is quite simple, but the size and technique of decoration will depend on the artist himself.

There are several types of snowman models depending on its shape:

Flat. They are created from paper and decorated with tinsel, beads, seed beads, or simply coated with special paints. This is the most suitable option for decorating wall surfaces, mirrors or doors.

Volumetric. They are made by filling in the form of cotton wool or synthetic padding; an option is available from strips of corrugated paper.

Origami. The technique is especially popular, since the process of creation develops the horizons and imaginative thinking of not only adults, but also children, despite the fact that we make a paper snowman with our own hands.

Openwork welt. It is made on the basis of a pre-prepared pattern, and it can serve as a decoration not only for the New Year’s beauty, but also for your table.

There are a considerable number of methods and ideas for creating paper snowmen, but each of them requires imagination. The completed figure requires decoration, and you can safely use various materials: beads, shiny paper, paints, pencils, felt-tip pens, fur, fabrics of various textures, ribbons and even yarn.

A master class on how to make a snowman out of paper can be an excellent assistant in creating a real work of art.

Creation technique

Making paper crafts does not require special skills from the performer; the only thing that may require is a little patience.

Snowman made of corrugated paper

One option could be a snowman made of corrugated paper. The technique is simple and does not take much time. Let's look at step-by-step instructions on how to make a snowman.

First of all, you need to prepare strips of prepared material measuring 15 by 17. The paper is carefully stretched and on one side the familiar delicacy “Chupa Chups” is wrapped in it. It is better if the candy is packed in two layers.

The long sides are fixed with glue. On the other side you need to wrap a smaller but round candy, which will serve as the snowman's head. The edges are also glued together at the top of the craft.

It is better to make hands for a snowman from wire, which is also recommended to be wrapped in paper. You can use a satin ribbon for a scarf, and the width of the decoration depends entirely on your desire.

Beads or buttons of the appropriate size are perfect for decorating the body. It is better to make the nose out of thick cardboard; it can be covered with tape or decorated with paints. All elements are attached to the figure using PVA glue as shown in the photo of a paper snowman.

Snowman quilling

Snowman using the Quilling technique. The technique is quite common and requires at the initial stage to prepare special strips, previously cut from ordinary paper. Two large spirals will subsequently be twisted from them.

The resulting rolls are glued together from largest to smallest. All that remains is to complete the figure with a pompom. Don't forget to make a nose and eyes for the resulting craft.

Snowman made from children's hands

An equally creative option could be a snowman made from figurines of children’s hands. We prepare in advance the figures of palms and three circles (contours) of the future craft. Glue the elements from the center to the outside (it’s better if they are different colors).

A hat and scarf can be made from a suitable material and glued to the workpiece. The buttons on the snowman's body can be replaced with multi-colored paper snowflakes.

Making a paper snowman can be done using various techniques. They will fit perfectly into any interior and will help you create a real atmosphere of magic and celebration, while you can use diagrams and templates to create snowmen.

Even the smallest family members can take part in the manufacturing process. In addition, this is not an expensive activity at all, which can unite the whole family behind one useful task.

Photos of paper snowmen

New Year 2020 of the White Metal Rat is approaching, and each of us is preparing for this wonderful holiday. Some people plan to celebrate the holiday at home, with their family, while others, on the contrary, in a noisy company of friends, on the street. In both cases, I would like to beautifully decorate the New Year's meeting place. Typically, the New Year's decoration of the home consists of a Christmas tree, all kinds of garlands and beautiful festive compositions from Christmas tree branches and tinsel. On the street, traditionally, a snowman is made from snow and decorated with various fun accessories. But what if you want to have such a funny snowman in your apartment, or it happens that there is little or no snow outside? For such cases, we offer some great ideas on how to make a snowman for the New Year 2020 with your own hands from scrap materials.

Snowman made from plastic cups

In order to make such a rather unusual snowman, you don’t have to work hard, because creating such a miracle is as easy as shelling pears!

To make it you will need:

  • plastic cups - 300 pcs.;
  • PVA glue or stapler;
  • plasticine.

Progress:

  1. 30 glasses should be laid out in a circle and fastened together using a stapler or glue. The first row is ready. According to the same principle, we make the second and all subsequent rows. For each subsequent row, fewer and fewer glasses will be required, since they are cone-shaped. Thus, the first lump should be obtained.
  2. The next lump should have a more round shape and smaller dimensions. We take 22 plastic cups and form the second lump in the same way as the first. After that, we turn it over and lay out the missing rows. If desired, you can make a third lump, however, in this case, it may be too unstable.
  3. Connect both lumps and make sure that everything turns out correctly and evenly.
  4. Let's start decorating. Make eyes from black plasticine and a nose from orange plasticine. Wear a hat or cap. You can also use a scarf, ribbons, fabric and other elements for decoration.
  5. You can put a New Year's garland under the snowman, in which case it will also glow. The main thing: show your imagination! This decoration can be installed indoors or outdoors.

Snowman made of threads

One of the easiest options for making a snowman for the New Year 2020 with your own hands is using ordinary threads. It looks original and is done, surprisingly, quickly and easily.

  • A skein of white thread,
  • PVA glue,
  • Balloons – 5 pcs.,
  • cotton wool,
  • Needle.

Progress:

  1. First of all, you need to inflate the balloons, they will be the body. 3 - different sizes and 2 - the same (for hands).
  2. Use a needle and thread to pierce a jar of PVA glue. The thread must be saturated with glue. We remove the needle and wrap the thread around the inflated balls, which have been previously coated with a small amount of vegetable oil (so that the thread does not stick to the ball). Try to wrap the balls as carefully as possible so that there are no gaps at all. Once all the balloons are wrapped, place them in a warm place to dry completely (at least 24 hours).
  3. After this, pierce each ball with a needle and remove its remains by the tail.
  4. We sew all the parts together with white thread. For maximum effect, you can coat the stitching areas with glue. Leave it until completely dry.
  5. The eyes can be made from buttons or beads, the nose and mouth from colored paper. Wear a hat and scarf. Our snowman is ready for the New Year!

New Year's craft "Chocolate - snowman"

New Year's holidays in every family, of course, are not complete without sweets. But, given the fact that the New Year is a time of magic and the fulfillment of all cherished desires, you should definitely transform an ordinary chocolate bar into a rather cute snowman, thereby intriguing your children with beautiful homemade packaging.

  • PVA glue,
  • Orange corrugated paper;
  • Scarf and hat (can be made from a sock or corrugated paper);
  • Fir branch with beads or other decorative elements.

Progress:

  1. We take a clean sheet of paper and wrap a chocolate bar in it, and so that it does not unfold, we glue it with PVA glue.
  2. On the finished snow-white tile, draw the eyes of the snowman with a black felt-tip pen, and form a nose from a small rectangular piece of orange corrugated paper, tightly wrapping it into a cone and gluing it with glue.
  3. We draw a smile with a black or red felt-tip pen, and create a blush on the cheeks using a red pencil, which we use to shade on a small piece of white paper, and then lightly rub it on the cheeks.
  4. We make a hat and a scarf from a sock: cut it in half and sew one part, where the heel remains, using a needle and thread. Using a thread from the top of the hat, we create a bubo. To make the hat seem mischievous, sit slightly at an angle and tighten one side of it with thread.
  5. We cut the scarf in a semicircle from the second half of the remaining sock and tie it around the snowman’s neck. To prevent the ends of the scarf from sticking out in different directions, we secure them to the tile itself with double-sided tape. We decorate the scarf with fir branches and beads or anything of your choice. Ready!

  3. We make mittens: cut out mittens from foil and insert a small candy into them and seal it inside with hot glue.
  4. Using chenille wire, we wrap both mittens around the edges, making them fluffy, and twist it at the base of the mitten.
  5. We paste the resulting snowman with candies: we paste the bottom ball in three rows, at a short distance, and on the top - three candies.
  6. We wrap the entire snowman in rain, securing it with hot glue. We put a cap made of silver cardboard on the head and also attach it to glue.
  7. We glue eyes taken from an old soft toy onto the face, a nose from gold foil, a mouth from red rain or other material.

Light bulb snowman

Did you know that you can make an original Christmas tree decoration from an old light bulb? It's very easy and simple!

If your child has been asked to make a New Year’s craft for the garden or school, then our article is for you. We will tell you how and, most importantly, what you can make a snowman out of.

How to make a snowman from a sock with your own hands

White socks are an excellent preparation for a snowman. Mom's or dad's things will turn into a large snowman, and small socks will be suitable for making snowmen.

So, we need one white sock, scissors, stuffing, thread or elastic bands.

  1. Cut off the bottom part of the whole sock.
  2. We tie one end with an elastic band and then turn it inside out.
  3. Fill a sock with any cereal. Bulk products will make the toy more stable and make it easy to shape it into the desired shape.
  4. We also tie the other end with an elastic band.
  5. Using our hands we give the snowman a slightly elongated shape. And to highlight the snowman’s head and torso, we tie the piece just above the middle. The bottom part should be slightly larger and thicker than the top.
  6. Now you can make a hat from the remaining part of the sock. A narrow piece of any fabric will replace a scarf for a snowman.
  7. All that remains is to make the eyes and nose, and glue two or three buttons to the bottom.

To get acquainted with the master class in more detail and learn better how to make a snowman from socks, watch the video.

How to make a snowman from plastic cups

A snowman made from plastic cups turns out to be large and charismatic. It can be placed in the classroom and in the children's room. Just leave more space!

The snowman will require more than three hundred plastic cups, a large stapler and glue. Our product will consist of two large balls. Let's start assembling the snowman from the bottom.

  1. We fasten the first row of 25 cups in a circle using a large stapler. We connect the cups to each other neatly and evenly.
  2. Now we place the following cups in turn on the resulting circle and connect them to each other and to the previous row. Thus, we complete the first half of the ball. By analogy, we perform the second half.
  3. The top part of the snowman is also done, but for the first row of the head, 22 cups are already taken. Glue the resulting balls together.
  4. We make the eyes and nose.

All that remains is to come up with a headdress for the snowman and choose a suitable scarf.

And the available video tutorial will clearly demonstrate the process of making a snowman from plastic glasses.

How to make a snowman from threads

The next master class will help you learn how to make aerial snowmen. They are based on balloons, glue and thread.

We choose PVA glue, it has good adhesion and does not leave yellow marks. We take white threads of any thickness.

  1. Inflate the balloons so that one is slightly larger than the other. Let's connect them with tape.
  2. Let's prepare the adhesive composition. To do this, pour a little PVA glue into a small container, then add water and mix everything.
  3. Soak the threads in glue and begin to wind them in random order, first on one, then on the other ball.
  4. After drying, you need to pierce both balls and pull out their remains through the threads.

The result was lace balloons. You can attach a thread or string to them and hang them on the Christmas tree. But we need a snowman made of threads. Therefore, we glue the balls together to make a snowman.

All that remains is to come up with a headdress and a scarf. Glue on the drawn eyes or buttons. A carrot-shaped nose is made from orange paper, folded into a narrow cone, or plasticine. Ready!

All the details of the master class are shown in our video.

DIY light bulb snowman (master class)

Don't rush to throw away your old incandescent lamps. Let's make cute snowmen from light bulbs that will decorate any Christmas tree. You can remove the internal parts of the lamp, but this will require carefully disassembling the top of the base. It's up to you to decide whether you will do this painstaking work.

  1. The first step is to paint the glass part of the lamp with acrylic paint, using a sponge to apply it evenly over the surface.
  2. After the paint has dried, the base is tied with a rope and a loop is glued to hang the toy on the Christmas tree.
  3. The eyes, mouth and nose are made using beads or painted with paints, as in the photo.

Light bulbs are quite fragile, so you should not leave children unattended while working with them.

The full version of the master class can be seen on the video.

How to make a paper snowman

Paper is the most popular material among children. It provides a lot of opportunities for making various crafts and souvenirs.

How to make DIY Christmas cards with snowmen

Here's how to make a New Year's card with a snowman applique.

Prepare a white sheet of thick paper, cardboard, cotton wool and glue.

  1. Fold the sheet in half widthwise and set it aside for now.
  2. From white cardboard you need to cut out two touching circles, one slightly larger than the other.
  3. We apply a layer of glue to the base of our snowman, and a thin layer of cotton wool on it.
  4. We cut off all the excess and glue the snowman onto the main sheet.
  5. We finish his hat, eyes and nose from beads.

Now let’s use our imagination and decorate the card at our own discretion. And our video will help with this.

DIY New Year's paper snowman in 3D

A gift card with a three-dimensional or so-called 3D applique looks interesting. This result is achieved by cutting and bending the elements of the postcard.

We will need two sheets of paper, and the white one should be 1 cm shorter in width and length than the colored one.

  1. Fold a white sheet of paper in half widthwise and make two parallel cuts. This is how we designate the lower part of the snowman.
  2. We bend the part resulting from the cuts and direct it inward.
  3. We make two smaller cuts on one of the folds. And we also direct the bent part inward.
  4. All that remains is to make the last two small cuts and again bend the resulting small element inward.

Now we open the card, and we get a three-dimensional snowman inside. Glue the wrong side of the white sheet onto the colored one. More details in the video.

The main element of such a card is a snowman made of several layers of paper, which give it volume and splendor.

  • For the base of the postcard, take a thick sheet of cardboard, or two sheets of different colors. Fold them in half.
  • The snowman is made from two circles. For a fluffy snowman you will need at least 20 circles of each size. We cut them out of white paper and bend each one in half.
  • We glue one upper and lower circle completely so that along the fold they coincide with the fold of the base sheet. Apply glue to the remaining circles only along the outer part of the fold, and glue them to the previous circle. And so on for all the top twenty pieces.
  • And then the bottom twenty.
  • All that remains is to decorate the card.

New Year's craft: paper snowman - garland

If desired, windows, walls and the Christmas tree can be decorated with a garland of snowmen.

  1. Fold a white sheet of A4 scale in half lengthwise and cut along the fold line.
  2. We put one part aside, and fold the second in half widthwise, and then again in the form of an accordion.
  3. Now on the front side we draw the silhouette of a snowman so that its handles end at the edge of the sheet. This will be the place where the garland adheres.
  4. We cut out the design along the contour, and we have part of our garland of four snowmen ready.
  5. We also make a few more links of our product, and then fasten the parts (where the handles are) together with narrow tape.

Here's how it was done in the video masterclass:

Snowman on the window

The windows of houses with New Year's paintings look beautiful. And if not everyone can take on Santa Claus and the Snow Maiden, then even a child can handle a snowman. Two or three white circles, a mouth, nose, eyes, a bucket on the head - and one of the main characters of winter is ready!

Today we told and showed how to make a snowman from paper, thread, plastic cups, socks and even ordinary light bulbs. Don’t forget to use our material if you want to make an original decoration for your home or as a gift to friends, or if a craft competition is announced at school or in the garden.

Necessary materials:

  • socks (one of them must be white);

  • scissors;

  • threads, thin elastic or rope;

  • cereal;

  • buttons of different colors and sizes;

  • black beads for eyes;

  • orange felt-tip pen;

  • pieces of fabric of different colors and textures, ribbons, buttons and other decorative ornaments.

Manufacturing:

First you need to make a base for the snowman from a white long sock. Take a sock and cut it in half at the heel. We turn the upper half of the sock inside out and tighten the cut area with an elastic band or thread, after which we turn the sock back to the right side.

As a result, we got a kind of bag that needs to be filled with cereal to the very top. Any cereal can serve as a filler, but rice or semolina are best suited for these purposes - they will not stand out through the sock. If desired, you can add an aromatic mixture inside the New Year's craft. We also tie the top of the sock tightly with thread, twine or a thin elastic band.

We visually determine the middle of the resulting workpiece, measure approximately 1 cm upward from it and bandage this place again. The basis for the snowman from the head and body is ready.

The next step is to design the snowman's face. Sew black beads in place of the eyes. We make the nose from a bead or half a toothpick painted orange.

The remaining half of the white sock can be used to make a hat. Cut off the heel area and turn the sock inside out. Carefully fold the sock along the cutting line and place it on the snowman’s head. If desired, a hat for a winter character can be made from a colored sock.

Now all that remains is to decorate the finished snowman. To do this, we make a scarf from scraps of multi-colored fabric and sew on buttons. You can decorate the New Year's decoration using any available materials: figures cut out of fabric or shiny paper (hearts, stars, flowers, etc.), sequins, beads or sparkles.

A snowman made can be placed on a shelf or used to decorate a Christmas tree. Alternatively, such a snowman can be presented as a New Year’s souvenir or to relatives.

Snowman made from plastic cups

Necessary materials:

  • disposable plastic cups 3 packs of 100 pcs.;

  • glue;

  • stapler;

  • bright scarf;

  • a cap;

  • orange paper;

  • dark fabric for creating eyes and buttons.

Manufacturing:

To create a snowman, you need to make two large balls from white disposable cups. First we start making the body. To do this, we lay out 25 plastic cups in a circle and fasten them together with a stapler.

Place the second layer between the glasses of the first row, moving them slightly inside the ball. Following this technology, we will obtain a hemisphere that will give the structure stability. The second row requires the same number of disposable cups, and all subsequent layers require one less. The resulting workpiece should be left open, since another ball will be installed on it.

The head for the snowman is made according to the same principle as the body, only the ball should be smaller in size. To create the first row you will need 18 plastic cups.

When the small ball is ready, place it on the large one, fastening them together with a stapler.

All that remains is to decorate the snowman. Eyes and buttons can be made from pieces of dark fabric by simply placing them inside the glasses. We cut out a nose imitating a carrot from orange paper, and a mouth from red paper. We tie a bright scarf or tinsel around the snowman's neck. You can put a Christmas tree garland or a floor disco ball inside the structure to create bright lighting.

Pompom snowman

Necessary materials:

  • white wool or synthetic threads;

  • cardboard;

  • compass;

  • scissors;

  • glue;

  • orange and black felt.

Manufacturing:

First, we make rings from cardboard that will be needed to create pompoms. To make the body of the snowman, we cut out two circles of equal size (the diameter of the outer circle is 6 cm, the diameter of the inner circle is 3 cm). To make a blank for the second pompom, cut out two more circles of smaller sizes (the diameter of the outer circle is 4 cm, the diameter of the inner circle is 2 cm).

We cut white wool threads, folded 4-8 times, into 2 m lengths. We connect two cardboard rings of the same size together. Then we begin to tightly wrap the ring with woolen threads.

The ring should be wrapped with thread until the hole is closed. For convenience, you can use a crochet hook to pull the threads through the hole. The thicker the layer of winding on the ring, the more magnificent the pompom will be.

Next, cut the threads with scissors or a stationery knife along the outer edge of the ring. Then we slightly move the rings away from each other and tie the threads tightly. We remove the rings and fluff the pompom, then trim the shape using scissors. We follow a similar procedure to create a smaller pompom.

When the main parts for the snowman are ready, we connect them together by simply tying the threads from the pompoms.

We make the headdress for the snowman from black felt fabric. First, cut out a circle with a diameter of 6 cm and cut off ¼ of it from the center. Lubricate the cutting lines with glue and connect the edges.

We make the nose for the snowman from orange felt. Cut out ¼ of a circle with a diameter of 4 cm, roll it into a cone and glue the edges.

We cut out eyes and buttons in the form of small circles from black felt. A scarf for a snowman can be made from felt fabric of any bright color. To do this, cut out a strip 20 cm long and 1.5 cm wide. At the ends of the strip we make a fringe.

To give the pompom snowman stability, glue it to a base cut out of thick cardboard.

Light bulb snowman

Necessary materials:

  • burnt out light bulb;

  • White paint;

  • brush;

  • scissors;

  • orange paper;

  • markers;

  • glue;

  • scraps of bright fabric.

Manufacturing:

We paint an unnecessary burnt-out light bulb of a standard shape with white or light blue paint. If necessary, apply a second coat of paint. If desired, the surface of the light bulb can be additionally covered with a layer of glitter. When the light bulb is dry, we begin to decorate the New Year's toy. From a piece of brightly colored fabric, cut out a small strip that will serve as a scarf for the snowman. Cut the ends of the strip into noodles. Glue the finished scarf to the light bulb at the place where the wide part ends and the narrow part begins. Using a dark marker or felt-tip pen, draw the snowman’s hands and face. Cut out a nose in the shape of a carrot from orange or red paper. A DIY snowman made from a light bulb will be a wonderful decoration for the New Year tree.

Snowman made of threads

Necessary materials:

  • thick white threads;

  • PVA glue;

  • 5 balloons;

  • needle;

  • petrolatum;

  • decorative materials (half of a Kinder surprise, scraps of fabric, beads, colored paper, buttons, etc.).

Manufacturing:

We inflate balloons - three balls of different sizes for the body and two balls of the same size for the arms of the snowman. Apply a layer of Vaseline to the balls to make them easier to remove from the blanks in the future. We pierce the package with glue right through at the bottom - this will allow the threads to be evenly coated with glue. We wind the threads coated in glue around the balls in a chaotic manner so that there are gaps left, which will give the product delicacy and lightness.

We leave the workpieces to dry for a day, the glue should harden well. After this, we pierce the balloons with a needle and remove them through the holes of the workpiece.

Now you need to connect the resulting balls of thread together. Lightly squeeze the largest ball on one side and glue a smaller piece to this place. We perform a similar procedure with a small ball. We glue the blanks for the handles on the sides of the middle ball.

The thread snowman is ready, all that remains is to decorate the New Year's craft, giving it a finished look. From any available materials we make a scarf for the snowman (from bright fabric or Christmas tree tinsel), a carrot nose (from colored paper or fabric), a hat (from fabric or half a Kinder Surprise), eyes and nose (from colored paper or fabric).

A snowman made of threads will be an excellent decoration for the festive interior; it can be placed on a windowsill, on a shelf or placed next to the New Year tree.

One white terry sock
- rice
- 2-3 small buttons
- tailor's pins (for the nose and eyes)
- a piece of fabric for a scarf

How to make a snowman with your own hands:

1. Cut the sock into two parts as shown in the photo.

2. Take the upper part and tie it with thread or sew it on the side where you cut the sock.

3. Now turn this part of the sock over to the other side.

4. Fill the resulting bag with rice. Don't skimp on the rice; It's beautiful when the snowman is chubby.

5. Tie the top of the sock with thread.

6. Form a head and tie the sock again with thread in the place where the snowman has a neck.

Making such a paper snowman is very simple. Even a preschooler can cope with the task. You need to cut out three circles of different sizes from thick white paper. It is advisable to shade the edges of the circles so that they stand out better against each other. This can be done using crushed pencil lead or eye shadow. Also cut out a scarf, pens, a carrot nose, eyes and buttons from colored paper. Glue all the parts of the snowman sequentially onto the blank of your New Year's card. To give the snowman volume, it is better to fasten the circles together using double-sided tape.

With kids 2-3 years old, you can make a “Snowman” applique card from cotton pads.

Making a snowman out of cups couldn't be easier. This snowman craft will never melt and will delight your children for years to come. To make a snowman from plastic cups you will need many, many plastic cups and a stapler. One ball takes about a hundred cups.

For one snowman you will need to make two balls: a larger one (for the body) and a smaller one (for the head). Each ball will consist of two hemispheres. To make one hemisphere, you need to lay out cups on the floor in the shape of a circle of the diameter you need. Fasten the cups together. Next, add new rows of cups on top, not forgetting to fasten them with a stapler. As more and more cups are added, they themselves will naturally take the shape of a hemisphere. When one hemisphere is ready, make another one exactly the same. We only advise you to leave the upper parts of the hemispheres unfinished, so that the snowman stands steadily on the floor, and to make it easier to attach the head later. Now all you have to do is connect the two parts of the ball together and fasten them. The body is ready. You need to make the head in exactly the same way.
