You can create such a product yourself, but to do this you need to know the rules for its preparation and application. It is these questions, as well as recipes for homemade body creams, that we will consider in today’s article.

Useful tips for making and using homemade body creams

To create the perfect body cream, you should know the following rules:

  • Prepare the mixture in a container made of non-toxic materials (crystal, ceramics, clay or glass).
  • Use the freshest products and raw materials. They should not have an unpleasant odor or external defects.
  • When making a cream for the first time, try to use no more than 4 components, so you can evaluate the result of the cream and in the future correct any errors in the composition of the product.
  • The key to preparing a quality cream is mixing its ingredients: beat the mixture until it becomes slightly warm.
  • Always follow the instructions given in the cream recipe: do not change the dosage of the ingredients, and always observe the temperature regime.
  • By replacing water with green tea, hibiscus tea or chamomile decoction, you will make the cream even more effective and healthier.
  • Before making the cream, be sure to prepare all the ingredients: a clean jar for the cream, a bowl for making it, measuring spoons, a syringe, a blender, etc.
  • To make it easy to measure solid foods, chop them with a knife or grater.
  • The cream should be used every day, the body should be clean and dry.
  • Having used up the homemade cream, start creating a new one, but according to a different recipe. Try to prepare 5-7 different products one by one, and from them choose 3 creams that will suit you in all respects.

Armed with this knowledge, you can prepare the perfect cosmetic product and enjoy the amazing look of your skin in the future.

Thanks to the variety of folk recipes, every woman can choose and improve the composition of the cream that suits her in all respects. When making the product for the first time, try to reduce the dosage of ingredients so that you end up with just a little cream. If the composition of the product suits you, then you can safely prepare the cream at home and in accordance with the doses indicated in the recipe.

Every woman wants to buy the perfect body cream, but in some cases it will be much easier to prepare it yourself. This is, firstly, a guarantee of the quality of the ingredients used, and, secondly, it makes it possible to use and create combinations that cannot be found in stores. Read on to learn how to prepare them at home and what ingredients to use.

List of best ingredients

The list of ingredients that can be included in recipes is extensive:

  • cocoa butter helps restore the hydrolipid balance of the epidermis and affects cell regeneration. Fights cracks on the fingers and the formation of burrs on the nail plates;
  • Olive oil will be indispensable for people with oily skin and enlarged pores. It prevents the appearance of stretch marks and makes it possible to tighten the skin if you suddenly lose weight;
  • peach oil is characterized by anti-inflammatory, anti-aging, tonic and even brightening properties. A cream with this component is used in case of cellulite, inflammation and diaper rash on the skin. At home, it is perfect for stabilizing the condition of tired skin with an uneven tone;
  • beeswax forms a protective barrier for the entire body. Due to this, not only its dehydration or chapping is prevented, but also early aging;
  • Rose water perfectly smoothes the epidermis, giving it a healthy color, ideal velvety and elasticity. In addition, a cream with this component smoothes out any unevenness on the hands and easily gets rid of minor wrinkles.

When making body compositions, various cosmetic oils that are available in pharmacies are suitable. We are talking about tangerine, lavender, sandalwood, castor, pine nut oil, ylang-ylang, fir. It is important that the instructions indicate all their characteristics. This will help you use the ingredients correctly at home. It should also be taken into account that one package of oil is usually enough for no more than eight servings.

It is recommended to keep all components and cosmetics prepared independently in the refrigerator.

The cream at home is always prepared only in a water bath, the wax is rubbed on a fine or coarse grater, and the butters are pre-melted. Only after this do they begin to add the liquid phase. Read more about recipes for body compositions below.

Moisturizing cream

The skin needs hydration even in any area. The skin contains a significant amount of water, which is needed for its optimal functioning. In this regard, in case of dry or flaky skin, this cream should be used. It will provide an opportunity to replenish moisture deficiency and soften the skin at home. The ingredients are simple:

  • 12 teaspoons distilled water;
  • 3 tsp. lecithin;
  • 4 tsp. castor oil;
  • 3 ml glycerin;
  • 4 ml of aloe juice and a similar amount of propolis tincture.

The water should be warmed up a little, but not brought to a boil, in which case the body cream will be truly effective. The average temperature is 40 degrees (it is advisable to measure it with a kitchen thermometer). It is necessary to soak the lecithin in warm water, which should swell; this usually takes no more than an hour.

After dissolving, stir it and beat the mixture with a mixer at low speed. Once the mixture becomes creamy, you need to add the remaining ingredients.

Next, you should pour the mixture into a container made of any material with a lid and apply it twice a day. Preferably at the same time, for example, morning and evening. In this case, a composition prepared at home will help restore the skin. What are other recipes that are good for your skin?

Citrus recipe

This product makes it possible to soften the skin and get rid of flaking. It helps to tone aging skin and combat those changes associated with age. The composition can be applied to the area of heels, knees and elbows to soften rough epithelium. To prepare the cream you will need:

  • 10 drops of lemon, jasmine and neroli oil, as well as 50 ml of soybean oil and apricot kernels;
  • 2 tbsp. l. cocoa butter;
  • beeswax 20 g;
  • 4 drops of phytoessence of carrot seeds;
  • 1 tbsp. spoon of glycerin.

First of all, you should add wax and cocoa butter to a heat-resistant container, which is placed in a water bath, where all components are melted until 100% dissolved. Next, you need to remove the container from the heat and add carrot oil, as well as glycerin. The future cream is thoroughly mixed, after which the remaining phytoessences are slowly poured in a few drops at a time. It is important not to stop whisking the mixture.

After the mass has cooled, it is poured into a convenient container and used at least twice every day. It is advisable to prepare small volumes so that the cream is always fresh and, accordingly, more effective.

Chocolate cream

This composition is not only necessary for the epidermis, but is also an excellent SPA procedure. Chocolate has a positive effect on the skin, and the aroma greatly improves your mood. Components of the rescue product:

  • a third of a dark chocolate bar;
  • little cocoa 1 tbsp. l.;
  • a quarter glass of natural honey;
  • two tbsp. spoons of lanolin.

The last ingredient is wax, which makes the cream viscous and gel-like, and can be purchased at the pharmacy. Honey is also no less beneficial for the epidermis; it contains a significant amount of nutritional components and vitamin complexes. An additional advantage should be considered that it is found in almost every home, and therefore it is not difficult to use it, taking into account all the advantages.

The only unconditional contraindication to the use of such a remedy is individual intolerance. After all, honey is one of the most powerful allergens.

In order to prepare the cream, you need to mix all the ingredients and melt them in a water bath, stirring constantly. After this, bring the mass to complete cooling and pour into a container with a lid. The body wash should be stored in a cool and dark place. Can be used once or twice within 24 hours.

Thus, creams prepared at home have many advantages. At a minimum, because they are created from fresh, proven ingredients, they are always at hand and are relatively cheaper than store-bought products.

The richer the assortment of cosmetics in stores becomes, the more difficult it is to find a care product about which you could say with a clear conscience - “this is really mine.” Often choosing products for body skin is much more difficult than choosing similar products for the face - it sometimes turns out to be more sensitive and vulnerable. Some women prefer to prepare homemade body cream, not trusting beautiful commercials. And they do it right.

In the struggle for the attention (and wallets) of the fair half of humanity, cosmetics manufacturers do not skimp on vows about the environmental friendliness and absolute safety of their products. Judging by the information on the labels and packaging, they choose exclusively natural ingredients as the basis for nourishing and moisturizing creams - from plant extracts to natural milk and honey. But in fact, complete naturalness can only be ensured by home-made cream making or making body and face creams using the “cold” method. And the industrial production of the same care products is inextricably linked with the use of lauryl sulfate, mineral oil, propylene glycol and other substances that provide a long shelf life of the cream, but, alas, do not bring any benefit to the skin.

How to make body cream with your own hands?

The women's online magazine “The Fair Half” once gave advice on how to make a body scrub with your own hands, using coffee, cinnamon, coconut flakes and other products that have an exfoliating and toning effect on the skin. Making homemade body cream can be an equally enjoyable creative process for you.

Fresh cream is usually chosen as the basis for such a cream - it is used either in its pure form or mixed in equal proportions with ready-made baby cream. Probably, there is no need for unnecessary explanations as to why this particular baby cream appears here - after all, it has at least some hypoallergenic properties, and, for example, it will come in very handy when caring for the skin of the breast.

Another option for the base for body cream is any vegetable oil. Sunflower here, of course, will look rather prosaic, although this option is not excluded. But varieties such as olive, grape, sea buckthorn, flaxseed, and jojoba would be much preferable. By the way, almost each of them is often used as hair oil, improving its structure and stimulating growth.

Additional components of homemade body creams include honey, fresh chicken egg yolks, essential oils and wheat germ oil, chocolate and even glycerin, which plays the role of a “moisturizer.” The easiest way to prepare the cream is to simply thoroughly mix all the selected ingredients and then apply the resulting mass to the skin. But “heat treatment” is considered more competent: you not only need to connect certain components to each other, but also keep them in a water bath all the time. Then the consistency of the cream will be more delicate and homogeneous.

Body cream with honey and glycerin

Two tablespoons of natural honey should be melted in a water bath until fluid and combined with the same amount of olive oil. Egg yolk is mixed with two tablespoons of glycerin and, if available, the same amount of wheat germ oil. If possible, the last component can be replaced with grape seed oil, mango oil, or nut oil. As you know, natural vegetable oils perfectly restore dry elbows, and the presence of honey only enhances their beneficial effect.

The honey-glycerin cream will be liquid, but if you put it in the refrigerator, it will thicken. Apply it, like any other body cream, after a shower on clean skin. You need to allow all the nutrients to be absorbed into the skin layer, which will take about 15-20 minutes. Then just wash off the cream with warm water. It is important to refrain from using gels and scrubs, as otherwise the effect of the miraculous home remedy will be reduced to zero.

Homemade body cream with chocolate

If you have a few pieces of real dark chocolate, great. Its absence is also not scary - you can use regular cocoa powder. For a quarter glass of honey, you need to take half a glass of cocoa powder or half a large bar of hard dark chocolate, previously melted in a water bath. Vegetable oils are not relevant for this recipe, but a substance called lanolin, usually sold in pharmacies, will come in handy. This is just animal wax - it will provide the finished cream with a more viscous structure. And during the heating process, lanolin, like honey, becomes liquid. For chocolate cream you only need two tablespoons. The general procedure is the same - all the ingredients are mixed in a water bath until smooth, and then the homemade chocolate body cream just needs to be cooled and used for its intended purpose.

Cream is an opaque emulsion of dense texture containing oil, water, emulsifiers, intended for skin care. Emulsifier is a natural (chicken protein, yolk) or synthetic component (lecithin) that is a connecting element between water and oil.

The first creams appeared in Egypt. They were created from infusions of flowers, tonic additives, and natural nutritional ingredients. Creams were considered a luxury; only high-ranking officials - priests and pharaohs - could use them.

The process of creating body care cosmetics was continued by sages from Greece. The main component in the creams was olive oil. Later, unique formulas of natural ingredients began to be added to it, affecting the production of elastin and collagen in the cells of the epidermis.

In Rus', body cream was made from sour cream, honey, animal fats, eggs, as well as vegetables and fruits. To supplement the healing properties, wild berries, roots of medicinal plants, and medicinal herbs were added to cosmetic preparations. In ancient Rus', creams were made independently at home.

When the skin needs nourishment

Industrial cosmetics for skin care do not always meet the needs of dehydrated epidermis. Why does the skin lose its ability to retain moisture and become saggy?

The presence in the diet of foods that help remove fluid from the body.
Application for hygienic procedures of hot water.
Prolonged exposure to ultraviolet rays.
Frequent allergic reactions.
Alcohol and tobacco abuse.
The use of industrial cosmetics for body care with preservatives, parabens, and harmful chemical compounds.
Violation of the humidity level in the living space.
Skin diseases, dermatitis.
Avitaminosis of the epidermis.
Hormonal disruption of the endocrine system.
Age-related changes in skin cells.

Signs of problem skin

Women take care of their face, but forget about their body. With age, under the influence of external and internal factors, the epidermis loses its elastic properties, natural moisture, and needs cleansing and nutrition.

Cream is the main component in skin care. The thick emulsion contains substances that help remove cell breakdown products, contains a line of vitamins “C”, “A”, “E”, “B”, nutritional components, hyaluronic acid. How to determine when you need to apply a nourishing body cream?

The appearance of visual defects on the surface of the skin (wrinkles, microcracks, etc.).
Upon contact with the skin, significant dryness of the epidermis is felt.
Formation of roughness around the joints.
Feeling of tight skin after hygienic daily procedures.
Frequent irritation and redness after a bath.

Ingredients for home cream making

What products will a woman need? To make an effective cosmetic product, you will need fresh food products, oils, and vitamins.

Olive oil. Evens out the skin, narrows the intercellular space. It is recommended to add to nourishing cream for the fight against, prevention of stretch marks, stretch marks after pregnancy, and sudden weight loss.

Cocoa butter solution. Under the influence of cocoa, the acid-base balance is restored on the surface of the skin, and the natural processes of cell regeneration are enhanced. added to the composition of the nutritional product for the treatment of epidermal cracks.

Peach oil. Softens and rejuvenates the skin. Fights pathogens, relieves inflammation, tones and brightens the skin of the body. Effectively fights dead particles of the epidermis and has an exfoliating effect.

Rose petal water. Recommended for use in body creams for dry skin. It has an anti-inflammatory effect, eliminates the feeling of tightness, and rejuvenates the skin. Improves the production of elastin, collagen, hyaluronic acid.

Wax (beeswax). Makes the skin smooth, protected from external adverse factors. Eliminates anti-aging changes in the epidermis, tightens sagging skin, and has antibacterial properties.

Propolis. You can replace wax with propolis - bee resin. Propolis regulates immune processes in the epidermis, creates a barrier against the penetration of ultraviolet radiation and bacteria. The healing properties of propolis have been known since ancient times.

Fruit acid. Has a toning and brightening effect. Found in freshly squeezed juice of grapes, pineapple, strawberries, blueberries, oranges, apples.

Phytoestrogens. Contained in parsley and aloe leaves. Plant extracts, infusions, and decoctions help remove excess fluid from the body, improve the condition of the skin, reduce inflammation, peeling, and relieve itching.

Ethers. To add fragrance and enhance the healing properties of the nourishing cream, tangerine, bergamot, pine, fir, lavender, and jojoba are added to the composition. It is recommended to purchase essential components at pharmacies. Each bottle comes with instructions for use, which clearly describe the purpose of the ether.

Subtleties in the preparation and use of nourishing body creams

It is recommended to store the finished nourishing body product in ceramic, crystal, earthenware, glass containers with a tight screw lid.
After making the cream, you need to record the cooking time. Home remedies can be stored for no more than fourteen days on the side of the refrigerator.
To prepare creams, you should not use products with defects (dents, wormholes) or an unpleasant smell of rot.
It is not recommended to use more than four ingredients in creams during the initial preparation of a cosmetic product. Subsequently, you can add the required amount of products.
After mixing all the ingredients, you need to beat the cream with a whisk until it becomes a homogeneous paste. The mixture should be slightly warm after beating.
You cannot change the quantitative ratio between products. The cream recipe must be reproduced exactly according to the preparation technology.
It is recommended to add infusions, decoctions of plants, and medicinal herbs to the cream as a liquid base.
Nourishing cream for dry skin should be used daily after hygiene procedures.
After completing a course of one nutritional product, it is recommended to change your body care tactics: use an equivalent recipe with other ingredients.

Rules for applying nourishing cream to different parts of the body

It is better to nourish the skin in the evening. During sleep, metabolic processes in the cells of the epidermis are activated, and the access of nutrients into the deep tissues of the skin improves. First, a woman must cleanse her body of sweat and sebaceous secretions. It is recommended to apply the cream to slightly moisturized skin.

You need to start applying the cream from top to bottom, moving from the neck to the legs.
Take a small amount of cosmetic nutrient and distribute it pointwise to the neck and shoulders.
Using massage circular movements, distribute the cream from the central point of the junction of the collarbones to the chin; from the center of the sternum to the shoulders.
Lubricate your hands with cream: starting from the fingertips to the elbow joints, towards the shoulders.
Treat the area of the chest, abdomen, hips, buttocks, moving from the center to the periphery.
Apply nourishing cream to the ankle joints, moving up to the hips.

Hand movements are soft, without pressure. It is recommended to start applying the cream from the left half of the body (to normalize blood circulation). Movements on the upper and lower extremities from bottom to top provide tissues with relief from excess fluid and elimination of edema. When massage passes are performed correctly, the functioning of the lymphatic system returns to normal, ensuring the removal of toxins and waste from skin cells.

Finally, I gathered the strength to publish a detailed master class on the topic “how to make cream with your own hands.” Let me remind you what I did to use it as a good moisturizing base for self-tanning and promised to post the recipe. It seems easy, what do you think?

The post will be short, but I will try to make it understandable, so that if you have never made homemade cream before, you can easily make it without going into unnecessary details. Of course, if you go deeper into this, you will need more detailed knowledge that cannot be contained in one article in a glossy magazine format. But still, remember the first, mandatory rule - “don’t be afraid!” You will succeed!” By the way, this applies to everything, not just cream))

So, what do you need if you want to taste all the delights of homemade cosmetics and know that feeling when you just apply a warm cream to your skin (mmm, this is comparable only to village fresh milk on an organic farm two hundred kilometers from the city)))

Tools for making cream— there are not many of them, in my photo I have only the most necessary part, which can also be replaced if necessary. So, the most basic things you will need:

  • mini electronic scales (ideal) or measuring instruments (spoons, cups, pipettes)
  • mini mixer for whisking in emulsion (an excellent and popular option from Ikea)
  • glass containers (also available at Ikea)

You will also need the components of your future cream - pure water (distilled or evian), vegetable oils, active ingredients (extracts, moisturizers) and the most important - an emulsifier and preservative. Without an emulsifier, not a single cream can be made, no matter what the adherents of the ancient formula of Galenic cream tell you; in the photo it is in the form of white wax balls.

And a couple more tools in the photo - the same EO hand antiseptic spray and a jar for cream. The mixer fits into the frame once again because we treat it and the jar with an alcohol antiseptic before starting production. Here, as you wish, you can sterilize the containers, you can wipe them or spray them with an alcohol solution.

This is the body cream recipe:

Aqueous phase (A): 20 g hyaluronic acid solution, 42 g water
Fatty phase (B): 10 g grape seed oil, 8 g rose moschetta oil, 6 g shea butter, 6 g Planta emulsifier
Active phase (C): 2 g of kelp extract, 2 g of NUFA, 2 g of d-panthenol, 1 g of ecoguard (preservative), 20 drops of mint essential oil.

Fatty phase of cream (B) looks like this in the cup, after measuring all the components:

The technology for preparing any cream, for the face or for the body, is almost always the same. And in technical information it is written in only three sentences!)) I will try to write a little longer, so - the theory of preparing an emulsion (any cream is an emulsion):

We heat phase A (aqueous phase) and phase B (oily phase) separately to a certain identical temperature. We mix both phases, pouring the water phase into the fatty phase, mix and then homogenize using a stirrer (in our case, a mixer) until an emulsion is obtained. Let the cream cool a little and add active additives, preservatives, and silicones. Mix again, cool, and transfer to a jar.

That is, in fact, we take water and oils - they do not mix, in order to mix them and get a white cream we need a magic substance - an emulsifier. All! Now for the practice:

1. Weigh the water and fat phases of the cream separately in identical jars, place them in a water bath and heat over low heat until the oil mixture becomes homogeneous and transparent. This happens at approximately 60-70, which is what we need. This achieves the effect that both phases of the cream will be at the same temperature.

2. Let’s see when the oil mixture dissolves (usually it takes three to four minutes; at this time you can prepare the active ingredients, wipe the table or take a couple of photos):

You can stir it periodically with a spatula or a regular teaspoon to speed it up))

2. As soon as the oil phase has become homogeneous, remove both cups from the water bath, and - attention! pour the water phase into the oil phase! Not vice versa, otherwise the emulsion may not be stable! We poured it, now mix it with a spoon a couple of times, take the mixer - turn it on - start whisking.

3. Almost instantly you get a white emulsion (no miracle!), which is liquid at first, but begins to thicken a little as it cools. Beat with a mixer for a couple of minutes until the cream becomes homogeneous. The thickness and richness of the emulsion depends on many factors: the type of emulsifier and oils, water content, thickeners, structure formers. Therefore, it will change when you make the cream according to a different recipe.

4. Immediately after receiving the cream, it is a little hot, so we leave it for a couple of minutes to cool down a little (we check it on the wrist so that it is not hot) and after that we introduce all the active ingredients, preservative and other additives that are not resistant to high temperatures. Mix the cream with a spatula until it is homogeneous. The cream is ready! Let it cool down.

5. Only when the cream becomes cold (I leave it to stand all night), transfer it to a jar. This is done to prevent condensation from forming on the warm cream on the inner lid of the jar. Now, after a few hours, the cream has a different emulsion structure, it has “set” and become denser and thicker.

It seems like I wrote everything that I wanted to tell you and show how it turned out - all I can do is hope)) if you have any questions, I’ll try to answer!))
